Canadian first, Albertan second.

I've travelled the world, and there's nothing better than coming back home to Canada.

Perhaps Russia would be willing to support you in this endeavor. I understand they like helping struggling break away provinces.

It would have been more appealing under a leader like Klein, but with the current moron in office I would prefer to stick with Canada.

Of course it is not even close to being feasible, but it would be nice to ditch the Maritimes, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

Can you explain why it would be nice to ditch over half of Canada's population? Have you even been to any of those provinces and if so...long enough to make a judgement to ditch them from Canada totally? What a ridiculous statement!

Quebec and Possibly Ontairo are the only province with enough renewable resources, and proper geographic location to make it "successfully" on their own. All the provinces could separate but only those would have a legitimate shot at real success.

As for "Supporting" the other provinces, Alberta doesn't have to include Oil Revenue in it's calculation, so it pays very little in comparison to what it takes in vs the other provinces. This is a HUGE bone of contention for Sask and NF, and is the reason NF premier Danny Williams, (a conservative), is telling people NOT to vote for the Conservatives in the next Federal Election. Harper promised on the campaign trail to give NF the same deal as Alberta and has since RENEGED, and said NF MUST include Oil revenues in it's equalization calculation.

This would leave Alberta as the only province who's oil resources are considered provincial resources, Sask, BC, NF and NS oil reserves are considered Canadian Resources under the plan. Needless to say Alberta is HAPPY about this and Ontario is pissed that Alberta oil is considered a provincial and not federal.

So any Albertain who wants to keep the 12 billion surplus flowing, better start cheering on NF and Sask in their bids to make oil provincial reserves, and drop the big finger to NS who took the "Cash" and sold out already. Oil as a "federal" resource is the NEP all over again...

No longer have to listen to Quebec whining about being distinct, no longer have to listen to Maritimes whine about how great the Maritimes are and how terrible it is that they have to move away because the Province are too worthless to create any jobs and no longer have to listen to people in Ontario yap about how great they are.

Plus get rid of a whole lot of left wingers that help to ruin the country.

Seems like a positive all around.

I would like to separate from Calgary Puck so if the mods could create a forum for me that would be great. I still want to keep my username, posting history and use the bandwidth and server resources and have mods patrol my independent forum.

Vive le CalgaryPuck Libre!

I lived through this bull$hit once. I had to move across the country (ended up working out in the end and thanks for not choosing T.O. Canadian Pacific!)

Thankful I have not been to all the Maritimes, but I have been to Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia and feel that I have spent plenty of time there to make a judgement.

And I wouldn't be kicking them out of Canada, I would imagine they would keep that name. I just wouldn't be keeping them in the wonderful land of New Alberta (and parts of BC and why not the North since I have nothing against them.)

Here's my question:
Wether you support Alberta separating or not and we go into a civil war with the rest of Canada, whose side would you be on. Your home or your country.
I'm probably wrong with them name here so I'll just say that the guy who lead the South in the American Civil war completely backed up what the North was doing and was offered the same position for the North, but had to turn it down because the South was his home. I think it was Usylis S. Grant
So again what would you do?

I'd prefer if we no longer had to listen to self-absorbed Albertans who think they're better than everyone else.

Yep you're right. I guess when you put it that way. At least your statement wasn't generalized at all. Sounds pretty narcissistic to me.

Ok, you've got to just be purposely trolling at this point.

You dislike the Martimes because you think they're leeches who don't contribute enough to the rest of Canada, but you like the North, the biggest leeches of all?

Take BC with us, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and NWT. Then take Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

We'd be a powerhouse!
