So Brady looks like a go for week one and Manning is still up in air. I have a feeling we wont see Peyton till after week 1, but god I hope he proves me wrong

Did anyone catch that "report" during the Hawks/Chargers game?
According to Mortenson, the Bengals have callled all NFL teams and are offering Rudi Johnson up in exchange for a "legitimate" receiver.
Maybe that Johnson injury is MUCH worse than they are letting on?

Well Johnson does have a torn labrum....which does require surgery. But he still says he's playing, which is odd.
But after Rudi Johnson, who the hell do the Bengals have? How can they be offering up their starting RB?

I haven't been following bengals camp but I did read somewhere that the "expert" figured Kenny Watson would finish the year with more rushing yards than Johnson.

Chris Perry and Kenny Watson have been getting the majority of the work, and Lewis has been quoted as saying Perry would be the starting RB is the seasons started today, but I woulkdn't be surprised if that isn't to try and light a fire under R.Johnson

Its looking like the Colts could be starting a third string QB on Opening Day.

And now whoever is the starting QB for the Colts will have a backup center handing him the ball....
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl.../1058/SPORTS03
So many injuries this year, or does it just seem that way because alot of star players are getting hurt?
Manning - infected bursa sac
Anderson - concussion
Saturday - knee
Umenyiora - knee
Taylor - knee
Johnson - torn labrum
Jurivecius - knee
Winslow - knee
Merriman - knee
And the list goes on....

Just a quick question for you NFL experts. If Peyton is a no go for the first week, who would you replace him with off the bench. My choices are Hasselbach or Garrard?

At least the NFL was nice enough to allow the Pats a gimme in week one and have them play the Chiefs.

And Merriman is going to play on 2 torn knee ligaments and risk "career-ending" injuries to himself.
Isn't this the point where the Chargers organization should step in and force him to do the surgery?

Hassellbeck without a doubt. People under-estimate him... he made the freakin pro bowl last year.

At home no less. They would be smart to sit Brady for that one. Maybe this whole injury thing is just an excuse to have sit that game out and not risk an injury.
To guarantee a victory for the Chiefs. I was going to bet heavily on the Pats.

I would go with Hasselback as well. Although he is having back problems. His back stiffened up flying to the game last weekend.

Both are on the road, Seattle at Buffalo, Jax at Tenn.
I would tend to think Hasslebach but his run game is without Alexander and has a new backfield and his top 2 receivers from last year aren't playing. Plus Buffalo is at home and seems to have a defense on the rise.
So all those things point towards Garrard. But Jax are the new Steeleres who want to run down the other team's throat. How many plays will Garrard get a chance to get you points?
I think it all comes down to this - it is Week One, know one knows WTF will happen, flip a coin and don't second guess it. The coin knows best.
