Default Player ratings from another league

I just wanted to give you guys the perspective of how ratings work in other keeper leagues. It's good for a laugh, and it would definitely make for some unique trades.

Eg) Ryan Getzlaf 78 OVR
Craig Conroy 81 OVR

hmmmm.....

I think that we can all agree though that Jagr should have the rating from this league...88!!! (Iginla and St. Louis are 81 and 80 respectively though...go figure!).

A lot of high ratings in general there.

Makes you appreciate the work of our commish's that much more. Probably the most realistic ratings of any NHL sim league going.

Two that caught my eye:
Stefan Legein - 73 (despite having never played in the NHL)
Rob Neidermayer - 79

Yeah if I may toot toot our horn for a moment - I have yet to see a ratings package as good as ours, which is why we spend the time to do it.

Years ago a guy by the name of Zubial would put together a pretty good ratings package but he has stopped doing it as far as I know. But even then, he really hammered young players - it would take forever for a guy to get a usable rating.

Those are some wacky ratings! Like James said, definitely makes you appreciate the amount of extra work our commish's put in to make this league as good as it can be even more...well done on our ratings!

Leland Irving - 77 OV LMAO!
Thomas Tragust - 76 OV
Nikolai Khabibulin - 75 OV

And if you are wondering who Tragust is...He was the backup to Jason Muzzatti at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

I suspect this other league simply uses the sim re-rates, and in that way isn't connected to what's happening in the NHL. Never understood why someone would run a league like that but that's the only explanation.

Ya it can be very confusing. I don't play in this league but visit and read as much as I can because I hope one day I can be a CPHL GM. *dream cloud*

But have been in a few leagues that aren't even worth the experience I have gotten from them, probably set me backwards. The ratings, the trades and the way the Commissioners are on top of everything is fantastic (that's me sucking up to get in ).

I just joined one league that I quickly left that only trades once a year, uses NHL08 to run the sims, and allows anyone to join who doesn't have a clue. For example: Bouwmeester(80), Dvorak(74) for Datsyuk(90), Lidstrom(96), Franzen(75) + 1st round pick

I am on the search still to find a league that has decent commish's and/or decent GM's. Be thankful you have both!

Well...except Prototype, you traded Iginla dude! Iginla!

yea they definitely don't do it the same way as we do, or most leagues for that matter. Overall their ratings are very inflated. And Legein is far from the only prospect that has a rating.
