Probably well more than that in my modified '84 Mustang, but even the aftermarket speedometer I put in there stopped at 240, but I still had another gear left so.....

Liar, the only way that you ever got up to 240km/h is the day that you drove your pinto off of a mountain with you strapped in the drivers seats screaming like a girl while your hair turns white and your pants to brown.

You promised that you'd take that secret to your grave.
Oh, so young and foolish were we, wings on a Pinto.....

I took my bro's CTS V out a few weeks ago and had the speedo wrapped at 240, and was still accelerating in 6th gear. Amazing car for a 4 dr sedan.
I drove the Ariel Atom last year at the race city track, and when I was brave enough had a look at the speedo on the straight and was up around 130mph. One of the pro drivers took me out later in the day, and although I couldn't see the speedo my nuts were in my throat so I'm assuming it was even faster.

I wasn't driving, because I'm a chicken, but we were driving to Edmonton in my husbands car, a Saab 9-3 Turbo, and we were going 230-240 km/h most of the way. His car handles incredibly at that speed though so I wasn't totally spooked. I just looked out the window and pretended I couldn't see the spedometer. It was actually really fun though. Incredible how much force you feel accelerating to that speed.
I think he's taken his car faster than that though. They did a Saab performance driving course at Race City and they had them going fairly fast.

I was also a passenger in a GT-1 tube car at Race City where we max out at 250Km/hr on the front straight. That was damn scary but not nearly as frightening as the 135 in the Acadian Scooter.

I was in that Scooter at the time....and was off the ground......I'm not a very heavey set fellow...
Our buddy did 298 in a porche heading out to Vulcan two years ago. Whatta ass.

It's actually quite easy to get up to that speed, the problem is keeping the bike stable.

I never called you a liar. Just saying that I found it hard to believe.
Would you agree that 240km/hr on a public highway is pretty far out there for someone that's just learned to ride a bike that day?

It's not really that fast. I was sprinting at the time, the cop was right with his speed reading. I had a cateye computer on the bike, at the time.

I think 4X4 would have something to complain over if I did.

I usually only get up to about 160-170 kph, but do it every summer driving in BC on holidays. I'm mostly just scared of the fuzz to go any faster.

About 180-200km/h in this car about 4 days ago:
That was as a passenger though.
As a driver I've done about 220 in this car:
Thats a 1991 944 Cabriolet in case anyone is wondering. It was only produced for two years.

At the Porsche driving school I believe I topped off at about 240ish but I was too scared to look down at the speedometer for fear of crashing.

Oh, I hope no one here admits to doing that.
For me, probably 150 km per hour on my Gold Wing bike. It's almost a car anyway.
I have had a mountain bike up to 80 or so. I don't remember the actual speed as I was too scared. It was on that long downhill on the Icefields Parkway. We were in the left lane passing cars. Scared the crap out of me.
