I love Hardcore Sports Radio...I was a long-time XM subscriber, since the first day it was available in Canada. But just bought a new car with Sirius. I still prefer XM, but Hardcore Sports Radio makes Sirius worth having. Love the gambling and fighting discussions on that station.

Sorry to go off topic, but that's my roudabout way of recommending Sirius Satellite Radio to fight fans. Tonnes of MMA coverage and lots of great interviews.

I will definitely sign that petition but honestly, I don't think Calgary comes even close to being in Dana White's mind. We actually need a local fighter who is good enough to compete and draw the crowds that St. Pierre is able to command in Montreal. Until then, I think it's a very long shot for something like this to happen in Calgary. It would definitely be cool though. They are thinking about doing another one in Montreal, probably GSP vs Penn.

Yeah, the massively bad press and market research that showed very few people were willing to pay that much for a phone were just coincidence.

The UFC doesn't need some goofy online petition signed by a few hundred people to know that it will sell out pretty much anywhere it goes.

And the bad press mentioning the online petition every time they were reporting on the iPhone was just for fun I guess.

GSP and Penn are fighting Jan 31(Superbowl weekend) in Vegas.

Okay, when I first heard that the fight was gonna happen I remember hearing that Montreal was gonna be an option.

on a side note, BJ doesn't stand a chance.

The GSP that beat BJ by decision last time is not the same this time around. He's faster, stronger and quite simply the best all around fighter today. Get this fight over and done with because the one that I want to see, and I think most will agree, is GSP challenge for the middleweight title against Silva.

I'm a big GSP fan but don't think he'd last 2 rounds with Silva.

Maybe not, but I think it would be one hell of a fight. I think GSP could put up a good fight.

I understand the allure of a local fighter but GSP fighting in Calgary would sell out in about 3 hours.

He's not just huge in Quebec.

Doesn't matter which one you get now, the companies merged, but don't forget Howard 100-101!

Has there ever been a death in the ring for UFC, or any promotion for that matter?

UFC, nope.

There has been one death in all of sanctioned MMA beyond that (USA, Canada, Japan, ..Europe etc), Sammy Vasquez, a 35 year old with a fight record of 1-1. He was knocked out while fighting a smaller show and died several weeks later in hospital. This happened last year.

To put that is perspective, from the years 1998-2006 sanctioned boxing matches had 70 deaths due to injuries suffered in the ring. Sanctioned Mixed Martial Arts bouts had zero.

GSP beat BJ by decision I don't see how BJ "doesn't stand a chance". I'm not saying BJ will win, but anything can happen just look at Matt Serra.
