More than people realize. A lot of the "Okanagan" fruit for sale on the side of the road is coming from California too.

I don't think the pickup trucks are regulated very much. Not much truth in their advertising.

Yeah I know, I wanted to see if this would turn into hillbilly Taber jokes or not :P

What small town are you from? Town I grew up in with a population of 1,500, the locals were always the ones starting it.

Really? I thought roadside stands had some sort of Gypsy regulatory board that was charged with ensuring their health standards and advertising practices.

Buying food off the back of trucks is like buying electronics out of white panel vans, you never know what you're going to get and when you do get it, you'll probably regret it.

Regretting bad food can take up to 24-48 hours too.

It does when the truck isn't from one of the actual taber farms. Likes Jensens.

Forest Lawn opened a beer gardens is about right..assuming everyone who shows up in a Forest Lawn beer gardens is white and no one is armed.

Went there once about 8 years ago, nothing special. Went to the bar afterwards, it averaged about 2 fights an hour, 3 in the bar.

Outside when leaving, it was somewhat disconcerting to see the 3 RCMP officers getting pushed around and prevented from stopping some other skirmishes that were breaking out in the parking lot.

Just the backwoods brawls mostly, but who knows now, maybe its gotten a little edgier down there too....this was before that school shooting.

Pfft. 1500 isn't small. Try 360. Now that's a small town. A town so small it doesn't have a bar. Although Round Hill (probably less people than my hometown) has a hotel (why I have no idea) and in that hotel is a bar. And that bar is run by the Hells Angels. So we don't have problems like that haha. That place is so classy it was voted one of the worst three places to live in Alberta. She's a beaut I tells ya.

Small town in Southern Alberta with a population of 900. Locals might start some of them, but the outsiders were never smart enough to walk away. I have also witnessed plenty of fights in other towns or cities. Basically anywhere booze is served.

Technically the harvest started last week. So should already be on the market.

Ill be there again tonight.

Cornfest is a pretty good time if you like getting gunned. Taber has on average has some good looking scallywags, better for sure than most small towns.

Im not sure about 20000 people, but the town is insane during this weekend.

If you go to Taber and plan on going to the bar, just play it cool and you will be fine. Sometimes the locals "dont take kindly to strangers" but thats usually only when your doing something you shouldn't anyways.

Watch out for cops.
