maybe 12 is the ultimate peak year for a human. I know i was a lot better at random tasks at that age. take reaching down and tying my shoes, now i can't even do it without my body letting out a sad whimper.

And here's a nice article about NBC's "LIVE" coverage.
I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy this one..

Fair enough, but if you listen to him rant and rave on NBC he sure embarrassed himself. Each time Bob Costas would turn to another topic he would bring up the underage thing again. over and over.

You have to give credit to Ron Maclean whose mother passed away yesterday. He did an excellent job even though she broke her hip right before the games started and knew that she would not be around long.

There was a girl in the diving this morning, who was very pretty, Paolo Espinosa from Mexcio. I think she should have made the "list".
I don't think Libby Trickett is that good looking, have you seen her teeth!

Who was that Swedish girl from '04 (or maybe '00) that was super-awesome at every freakin' track event?

I certainly enjoyed it. I can't believe they got me on that Phelps thing. I'm pretty sure I was forewarned by CP but got duped anyway.

NBC's coverage is simply awful when it comes to timelyness. I knew from the starting gun (when they told me to watch the "live" opening ceremony 10 hours from now when it had already finished) that it would be bad.

Eurosport in Europe, and CBC in Canada are in a totally different league when it comes to sport's coverage. Yes, NBC's coverage might be glossy, but its comentators are horribly, and that fact that thing's arent happening live just ruins everything.

I think the better question is why call it women's gymnastics when it is really "girl's" gymnastics.

Younger are better due to plain old physics or aerodynamics. Without the hips and ta-tas you simply spin better and faster. Lose out on the strength but there isn't really a strength event in women's gymnastics like the men's.

NBC has had the same criticism for every Olympic that is not inside the USA. Sidney, Athens now Beijing. They just can't show the sport in non-primetime. I just do not understand why they can't show it twice. Once live and once in primetime.

He still gets absolutely bombed all the time, but I guess that's legal. I just hope he doesn't get picked to carry the flag.

They can't show it twice because they cannot cancel daytime tv or local news.

NBC didn't even show the olympics live when they were in atlanta or salt lake.
