Yeah, but it's worked for them for the most part. I'll take the Banner/Lurie way over the Dan Snyder or Al Davis way any day of the week.

You've got to feel bad for Bengals fans.
Quote:
Owner Mike Brown gave Henry a two-year contract on Tuesday, undercutting his head coach and undermining his own crackdown on repeat offenders. Brown released Henry after his fifth arrest in the offseason, saying the team was finished with him.

Then, he brought him back despite the objections of coach Marvin Lewis, who had no interest in giving Henry another chance. The move reminded players who’s in charge of the Bengals.

“It’s the organization’s team,” quarterback Carson Palmer said after practice Wednesday. “It’s their team. They’re going to make decisions that they think are best, and Marvin and the players and all the coaches do the best with what we’ve got.”

There is a reason why the Bengals have sucked for so long. I read a story about that organization before Marvin Lewis was hired. Basically every important position within the front office is occupied by a member of the Brown family. They don't hire experienced football people. They just promote their kids, grand kids, nephews, brother in laws, etc. etc.

Kind of on topic, but I just booked a flight to Houston to see the Texans home opener against the Ravens.

50 yard line, 15 rows up

Anyone ever been to Reliant? This is my first NFL game ever. Would it be wrong to wear my Cowboys jersey? Any tips would be appreciated!

I wore a Chiefs jersey to Oakland (I will never do it again, infact I'll never set foot in that sewer again). Anyhow I think you'll be fine. I'm sure plenty of Texans fans must have rooted for the Cowboys at one time or another.

I didn't say they all did. I said plenty of them would have at one time or another. In any case I doubt he will be the only one in that Stadium wearing some sort of Cowboys apparel.

For sure. Cowboys fans are like Leafs fans anyways - they're everywhere.

It's even worse than Leafs fans because the 'boys usually have competitive teams each year. Oh well, they still haven't won a playoff game in 12 years. That makes me smile.

You're a miracle man. Can't believe you didn't get shanked!

I once took a girl I didn't like very much to a Cowboys/Raiders preseason game at the LA Colloseum. She was a big Cowboys fan. She wore a Cowboys jersey.

Not much fun.

YES!

And that happened at Jack Murphy Stadium! I'm not just generalizing from this one incident though. Raiders fans (in the stadium) are notorious.

You have no idea. Thats what I thought before hand as well. You will not go to a scummier stadium anywhere in North America. I mean their fans intentionally pee on the floor in the bathroom.

Never went to the Vet. Not only is the stadium in Oakland a Dungeon (like the old Vet), the people in the stands are grimy as well.

I got the Chiefs version of this. Really well done. Every NFL fan should not hesitate to buy their teams history from NFL films (if one has been made).
