Oh, I know, dammit is right
But that last dive by the Chinese girl was spectacular.
Still, Silver is huge for Emilie her first individual medal. She has suffered from nerves a lot in the past. She did a fantastic job today.

Yes, Roulin Chen definitely deserved gold. It just kind of sucks to see judges give the Chinese divers excellent marks on almost every dive because their 62 pound frames or whatever barely makes a splash at the bottom.

I know, who weighs 62 lbs anyway, that's crazy!
My 14 year old son is taller and fairly thin and he weighs 145

Fotze is actually a 12 year old girl
But seriously we need to win some more golds in order to make a move in the medal standings since the first ranking is Golds. Canada is currently 21st, but 9 teams above them have less medals (Ie Slovakia is ahead with 5 medals because they have 3 golds)

Congrats to Heyman for winning the silver! I had her pegged as a bronze medallist winner prior to the event. Nice to see her get the silver. Chen was in a league of her own the whole competition.

Woo! Canadians are in the final of the men's 4X100m relay as the Americans and the Brits dropped the baton and got DQ'd.
We all know that the Jamaicans will win the gold by about 100m but maybe Canada can get a medal!

Speed-walking is definitely very difficult and none of us would last very long in that race at the speed they go.
As I mentioned before, there should be a 100m race-walking dash
---
EDIT: The american women dropped the baton too!!!!!

Racewalking has been in the Olympics for over 100 years. At least it has a history.
Dump Table Tennis. Unless they make them do it in a smaller room about 4' longer than the table with low ceilings and they need to step over 15 year old, broken stereo turntable if they try to go around the table.

Canada cheated out of gold!
I agree that the last dive by the Chinese team was great, but there were over rotations that resulted in 9s and so on on earlier dives. The entire gymnastics, tramp, and diving competitions have been a complete sham in this olympics. I'm really surprised that the CBC has not said anything about it, of course its typical as they have a vested interest in maintain this fraud.

?????? What! I just went through 7 hours of pvr in 45 minutes and i didn't see the relays. Where did you watch it and when?
Wow and you guys were complaining about the Canadians choking in the pool. At least they were doing their personal bests. The American track and field team has to be one of the biggest disappointments of the olympics.

The Chinese certainly seem to be getting the benefit of the doubt in all the judged events. Is it outright fraud, or are the judges unconciously influenced by the big Chinese crowds?

I heard the announcer mention last night that because the Chinese are so small they dont make a big splash when they make mistakes, and the judges miss that (not sure if that is a good reason or not)

That's just kind of a cop out excuse. It's not really true. I mean, I guess it is true, that the smaller body will make less of a splash, but these divers are at such an elite level that they all know how to go in the water without making a splash. All divers are trained to make a 'rip' entry where they kit the water and make a loud sound but zero splash. Anyone can do it with the right training. And at this level, it should really be a non-issue, as all the divers have been training long enough that they should do it on a cosistent level. Plus, the bigger divers make the louder noise when they nail an entry and it looks and sounds better.
So while, I suppose it is a valid theory...it's really just a cheap excuse to cover for poor performances. The fact is that the Chinese are incredibly well trained and have been training (most away from home) since they were 3 or 4. It's just a completely different atmosphere.
