I think that the universe is so big that there must be something out there. How many billions of stars are there, and then how many planets to go with those stars? To think there isn't anything out there would be foolish. However, I don't know if they would be the types of aliens we think they are. Who knows, maybe we're the most advanced planet in the universe.
And Area 51...I dunno. Probably some secret stuff being built by the government that they don't want leaked to the world. Some kinda fancy weapons or stuff like that.

Area 51 is a remote tract of land in the southwestern portion of southern Nevada in the western United States. Situated at its center, on the southern shore of Groom Lake, a dry lakebed (salt lake), is a large military airfield, one of the most secretive places in the world. The base's primary purpose is to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems.
The area on the far Left side of the hanger complex is where they filmed the Apollo moon landing. A young unknown actor named Neil Armstrong nailed the audition and beat other better known actors such as John Wayne and Rock Hudson to become the first man to land on the moon.

Actually I think it can (since we exist) and likely does exist. There's just no evidence that they're visiting us.
The universe is a big big place, it's a tough thing to propose that we're the only life, even the only intelligent life ever.
Though we may be the only intelligent life within the timeframe and distance required to be able to meet them.
i wasn't trying to throw you under the bus or anything, but after reading from the crop circle thread, it seemed like the kind of answer i would expect from you.
i believe that intelligent life does exist elsewhere, and with our limited intelligence and narrow perspective, i don't think we are beyond any timeframe or distance to be visited by them. to say that we are too far from them, kind of supports my belief.

The Rosewell UFO was a stagged event by the US governemt to determine how people would react to the possibilty of a UFO landing on our planet. Its was also to test how easily we (civilians) accept what they tell us. The government knows that even if we don't believe what they tell us, without hard evidence people will remain calm and collected. Ultimately there is nothing anyone can or will do.
Frick, I remember that I was terrified about being invaded by balloons and swamp gas when I was growing up.
