Octothorp I think that you should add Tyler Christopher to your list. IIRC (and got the name correct!) he is the reigning world champion in the 800m. Hopefully he can translate that past success into a medal here!
Okay, he definitely wasn't on my radar. Defending indoor champion in the 400m. I'll add him as a hopeful when I update it tomorrow.
The CBC commentators frankly piss me off. They consistently hype up the athlete only to have the athlete turn in a different performance. Just now the commentator says about Hayden "he shouldn't have a problem qualifying for the final" and he ends up in 11th.
Is it just me?
The thing that makes me mad is they keep on saying another Canadian record for our athlete even though the guy came in 7th place. Is that mean our swimmers are really not that good. No medal so far. When are we getting a medal at all?
By the way, i cannot believe CBC is showing gymnastics right now. Is there any other event going on?
Great job by the womens softball team to beat China 1-0. Their record is now 3-0, and they restart their game with the Americans still leading 1-0. Come on girls!

In some cases 7th is good.. especially when they were worse then 7th in the past.
I'm not crazy about Canadian records but best 'rank' is important.
There's nothing else going on, gymnastics it is. The women's all-around is a marquee event.

What the hell kind of drug would a shooter need to take?
Something to slow down the heart-rate and settle nerves. Shooting is very precise and can be very stressful.

Classy CBC tribute to Don Wittman before the track started tonight...the first time in my life, and in 40 years of Olympics, he's not calling track on the world's biggest stage for this country.
So many great calls by him. Watching track will be different without him.
Some intermediate results from track and field:
Browne qualified for round 2 in 100m, Armstrong qualified for the finals in shotput, as did Steacy in the hammer. Shotput final goes later today, as does round 2 of the 100m.
Disappointing baseball game. Thorman just can't strikeout there, so costly. I'm not really sure why Brett Lawrie is in the lineup either. I umpired the kid in the BC Premier League this year, he is an outstanding player, but I don't think he belongs on this team, let alone in the starting lineup.

But not really keen on the whole after the event interview thing.
She looks like a bulked up Jessica Alba! If she wins a medal she will prob get millions in endorsements.
Holy F. Did you guys watch that 100 metres qualifying? Bolt shuts it down at 50 metres and starts looking around and still finishes 9.92 seconds. You could hear some commentator in the background laughing hysterically. hehe
Michael Smith says that you might see him run 9.6 or even 9.5 in the finals! Insane.
