Nice pick Hanna. Was kicking that one around for my song pick. It's amazing, I can listen to the full 24 minutes (or whatever it is) and never once wonder how much longer until the song is over.

Thanks GS. We appreciate all the work you do. We can help you if it becomes too much.

Down the road, I think a Literature draft would be good (categories like you find in the book-store or library, ex. science, religion, travel, biography etc). Then, maybe a History draft of notable people (philosophers, scientists, military, explorers, artists etc).

Those would work. Down the road would have to be next summer I would think. Can't see a draft working during the Flames season.

Really? I think that it would work if you still had the time to run the show that is! I believe that there would be enough interest even during the hockey season. I mean how often do you really have to make picks anyway? I, for one, would really enjoy being involved in future drafts.

That's the hardest part. Sometimes we get 4-5 picks in a row, other times it takes days. The hottie draft has bogged down to a halt. The music draft is crawling to it's conclusion. Movie draft is smooth so far.

I'm back with the internet, so I'll try to catch up this weekend. 2.5 weeks after moving into my new building, Shaw has finally gotten their together and installed my cable and internet.

With our next pick Hot Banana Thrust is happy to select in the female singer category: Dusty Springfield

Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien (16 April 1939 – 2 March 1999), professionally known as Dusty Springfield, was an English pop singer. Of the female artists of the British Invasion, Springfield made the biggest impression on the U.S. market. From 1963 to 1970, she scored 18 singles in the Billboard Hot 100. Springfield is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame and is listed by Rolling Stone to be one of the Greatest Singers of all time.

A fan of American soul music, Dusty Springfield created a distinctive blue-eyed soul sound. Her distinctive voice was described by Burt Bacharach as:"...three notes and you knew it was Dusty." Her dashing, glamourous image was supported by a peroxided blonde beehive hairstyle, heavy use of eyeliner, and luscious evening gowns. The fact that Springfield was never in a publicly known relationship meant that the question of whether she was lesbian continued to be raised throughout her life.

Alright, trying this again

As my 13th round selection, I am proud to select, in the wildcard band category: Audioslave.

Quote:
Audioslave was an American hard rock supergroup that formed in Los Angeles, California in 2001. It consisted of ex-Soundgarden frontman and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell and the former instrumentalists of Rage Against the Machine; Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass and backing vocals) and Brad Wilk (drums). Critics initially described Audioslave as an amalgamation of Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden,[2] but by the band's second album, Out of Exile, noted that it had established a separate identity.
The band's trademark sound was created by blending 1970s hard rock with 1990s grunge. Moreover, Morello incorporated his well-known, unconventional guitar solos into this mix. As with Rage Against the Machine, the band prided themselves on the fact that all sounds on their albums were produced using only guitar, bass, drums and vocals; no samples were ever used.
After Audioslave released three successful albums, received three Grammy nominations, sold more than eight million records worldwide,[3][4] and became the first American rock band to perform an open-air concert in Cuba, Cornell issued a statement in February 2007 that he was permanently leaving the band "due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences". As the other three members were busy with the Rage Against the Machine reunion, and Morello and Cornell had each released solo albums in 2007, Audioslave was officially disbanded.[5]

Has anyone heard any of Cornell's new stuff? Produced by Timbaland.. so you know it's all R&B now..
