Default Virgin introduces Unlimited Blackberry plans that kick ass!

Looks like Virgin Mobile is entering the smart phone market with some wicked plans... I don't know how Telus and Bell and those guys are going to react, but we just received the pamphlets at work for these plans.

$15 - Unltd Email + Unltd IM
$30 - Unltd Email + Unltd IM + Voicemail 10, Call ID, Unltd text
$30 - Unltd Email + Unltd IM + Unltd Web Browsing
$45 - Unltd Email + Unltd IM + Unltd Web Browsing + Voicemail 10, Call ID, Unltd text
$60 - Unltd Email + Unltd IM + Unltd Web Browsing + Voicemail 10, Call ID, Unltd text + Streaming Video + Streaming Radio

This absolutely kills anythying else I've seen... the only downside seems to be that they only offer the BB Pearl so far... I'm sure more are on the way.

Pair this up with the fact that they have arguably the best customer service out of all the providers (JD power thinks so...), and this is a killer, KILLER plan.

telus and Bell have unlimited data for $30 and Rogers has $30 for 6 gigs...which to my ability is as good as unlimited. I'm not sure this is something to call home about, just on par with the other companies.

Difference is Virgin offers BIS and BES with their plans, not only BIS like everyone else does.

Plus if you are a business/daytime user, check and see if you can beat this plan:

Unlimited nation-wide calling M-F 9am-7pm (time can be changed)
Unlimited nation-wide calling Midnight Fri - Midnight Sun
200 local/nationwide minutes outside of aforementioned unlimited times
Unlimited incoming calls
Unlimited texting
Unlimited BIS & BES email
Unlimited blackberry messenger
Unlimited MSN, Yahoo, etc.
Unlimited Web
Call ID
Voicemail
Call Fwd
Call Waiting
3-way Calling

For $117 + tax/month.

Seems pretty good to me.

The Virgin Pearl also comes with an 8GB memory card and is $0 at Best Buy right now on a 3year.

Well, it looks like data plans are starting to become reasonable from all the providers in Canada. This is good.

The $60/month is about what I pay for the iPhone on Rogers for basically the same thing. My wife and I have $30 shared voice plan + $7.50 extra for system access & 911 fees + $11*2 for voice mail package + $30*2 for data. This ends up being about $120 for the two of us.

Given that I am signed up with Rogers for the next three years, I hope this competition means that Rogers won't try to bump up the $30/month fee for 6GB data plan in that time.

if the price changes they won't be able to change the price that your contract is locked in at. They don't change your voice plans if they go up or down, you have to change it yourself.

I was sure I saw an ad on TV last night for Fido- a plan that was $40 or $50 that included 250 daytime minutes, 1000 evening minutes, and unlimited on handset surfing.

Of course I can't find it on their site. The ad was likely on Space in case anybody wants to call them and ask about it.

How do those plans "kick ass"? They seem about average...

You are confused the only person locked in is you, in that terms and service agreement you signed when you got your plan it clearly states they can change or discontinue any service as they see fit.

Just like the insurance business the only people that benefit from those contracts are the companies not you.
