My grandparents bought some new cordless phones and they apparently have this feature which prevents you from using multiple handsets at once. This feature is not something which is desired, since they frequently use multiple handsets to talk long distance to kids etc. The packaging does not hint that this feature exists and my brief online search of various products has not clarified the situation for me.
If anyone has any idea how to figure out what this feature is called or if a phone has it before you purchase it, get it home and charge it for 20 hours it would be much appreciated. They live in a small town in southern Alberta, so it is not like they can run to Bestbuy in 20 mins if they get the wrong phone a second time. As it stands now they need to make the 2 hour round trip drive to Lethbridge to return the one they have.
This phone set is pretty much what they bought yesterday and they would like a similar setup if possible, but without the 'anti eavesdropping' feature or whatever it is called.
Any help would be much appreciated.
