And the Penguins play better without Crosby in the line-up.
40 or so games in one season is hardly a fair sample.

What do you possibly benefit from trolling a Blue Jays thread?

Trolling???
I made a post in jest about a topic that I have talked about plenty times with Mike.
I like to read the thread because I am interested MLB and peoples opinions on the Jays.
But will say again I realise that anything said negative about the Jays is not received well here and viewed as "trolling."

Mooner we should have known better than to dis the almighty Blue Jays, they are lucky that the Tigers sucked most of the season otherwise they would be most overrated team again this season.

Was he dissing the Jays or certain Jays fans in this forum?
Big difference. He was doing the latter, and there's no need for that cheap shot, especially when it doesn't apply to the vast majority of us.

Plenty of people say things negatively about the Jays here. It's your delivery that wins you fans in this forum.

Exactly.
Say what you want about the Jays, but knock off the hating on the fans.

Odd...most people around here are pretty frustrated with the Jays. Not sure who you're referring too here.

It was a tongue in cheek comment not meant to be "hating" on the fans, it was made in jest about a feeling that I and other sh ad seen in terms of fans being defensive when people suggest this team may not be that great. It wasn't meant to cause a big stir or to target individual posters.
If people feel that there has been a lot of negative talk or that people are down on the team I would respectfully disagree. I think many fans have been disappointed but still think that this is a talented team that shoudl be competing with the best of the AL. If it is pointed out that is not the case and that perhaps they are playing to their talent level it isn't exactly meant with open minds.
But it is your team and you should be defensive when people point out the flaws obvious or not.

So it was just a backhanded shot at posters like me that thought this was a playoff calibre team?
I know it was nothing personal, I'm not actually offended. Maybe I'm off the page here because I missed most of the thread.

It's the type of comment that people don't like- particularly if it holds no merit.
We suffer enough from people tossing around stuff like "rose-colored glasses", "homer", etc on the main board.
I would agree that in general people are frustrated with the Jays this year and are clearly aware the flaws of the team.
That all being said - the point's been made so everyone should move on.

To change the subject.........
In his first game with the Jays AAA team Travis Snider went 2 for 3. Produced both RBIs in the game....
http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news...=.jsp&c_id=tor
"The Blue Jays' top prospect went 2-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run double in the second inning to lead the Syracuse Chiefs past the visiting Charlotte Knights, 2-0, on Thursday. "
Jays first round pick this year "David Cooper" was moved up to the Jays Single A team and went 2 for 5 in his first game....
This is David Cooper's third team this year....

I wonder if Snider can be pencilled in as DH next year. He catches on quick and he's just blasting in every league he's playing in. The strikeouts are a little much, but probably wouldn't be much worse than Stairs has been this year. If we can get him up here as a regular DH and to spot Wells/Rios as a backup RF - I'd love it.
Rather than blowing our finacial wad on a Man-Ram, give AJ an extension and see if we can hold onto him (or chase a Ben Sheets in free agency) and the $25M or so coming off the books for Zaun/Thomas/Eckstien/others can be spent chasing a top-flight SS.

Well I can see why Cliff Lee will win the Cy Young Award. What a great performance. Its too bad the Tribe have been crushed by injuries, I was hoping to see them in the playoffs again.

Sure glad we gave up on reed johnson only to see stewart stink up the joint and get released. He'd look like a decent option for the jays injury depleated outfield right about now.

The Jays really couldn't use an .808 OPS bat right now. That, sadly, would rank second on the team to only Adam Lind.
