A Paris Hilton video that is safe for work...
Last week, there was some controversy on the US Presidential trail when the McCain campaign released a commercial comparing Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. The ad was trying to say that just because Obama is famous, it doesn't mean he's fit to be President.
The ad ruffled the feathers of not only the Obama campaign, but also the Hilton family, who have contributed significant funds to the McCain campaign.
Now, Paris fights back, launching her own Presidential campaign (and it's not even in night vision)... http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/64ad536a6d
It's nice to see she has a sense of humour about herself, and when she gets "serious", she doesn't even sound like an air-head.

Classy.

I've always said that for the most part her air head act is just that an act. She's done a great job of taking advantage of her celeb status to brand herself, thrown in stunts to keep her in the forefront of the press and made millions for herself.
Good for her.

Wow... That's the first time I've ever considered Paris Hilton hot.
I wish she'd stick to dropping the airhead act.

Is this not a fata? US Presidential Campaign 2008 thread.
Agreed - first time I thought she might actually be someone hot and not dirty like a Cowboys waitress.

You know... not everything that is repeated should be considered a fata.
I don't really spend a lot of time reading threads specifically about US Presidential Elections, but I do appreciate being able to see this video. Had it not been posted in its own thread, I would have missed it completely.
Now... if it was originally posted in a thread titled "Paris Hilton..." and someone created this separate thread, THAT would be a fata.

That doesn't seem like a good strategy. There are millions of eligible voters who probably like those celebrities.

No doubt. And even more eligible voters who only read In Touch or People magazine, not the NY Times.
I'd bet if you asked the Average American what the name of Britney Spears' ex husband is they could probably tell you.....can you say the same about Obama's spouse?
As for Paris, I've heard from a few people that she's actually quite smart in real life. Smart enough to know that acting like an idiot would make her millions of dollars for doing nothing other than.....acting like an idiot.

Are you guys saying that she is smart because of what she said in the video? I have my doubts that she came up with any of that.

She didn't. It was written by the folks at funnyordie.com, Will Farrell's website. She apparently read the script then took only four takes to get it perfect from memory.
I don't like Paris Hilton, but that impressed me.
...still don't like Paris Hilton

Nope, I've contended all along that the way that she's promoted herself, and branded herself is brilliant.
