He's a GREAT kid, who needs to learn to control his emotions. I believe the Broncos have this under control. The suspension is related to issues from the past, it's not really anything new.
Has he not been arrested 3 times in the past year?

Yeah...i really hadnt payed attention to his off field stuff. Then I was listening to ESPN Radio last week and they had Rod Smith on who talked at length about BM and his past and how Smith is trying to mentor him through everything.

Not a good track record the last few years at all.

Halloween 2004, while a student at UCF, Marshall was arrested in Orlando on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, refusal to obey, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer

On March 26, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Highlands Ranch suburb of Denver on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend reported that following a domestic dispute, Marshall prevented a taxi she was in from leaving his house.[23] Charges from the incident were later dismissed on May 25, 2007, after Marshall completed anger management counseling

On March 26, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Highlands Ranch suburb of Denver on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend reported that following a domestic dispute, Marshall prevented a taxi she was in from leaving his house.[23] Charges from the incident were later dismissed on May 25, 2007, after Marshall completed anger management counseling.[24]

In the early morning of October 22, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Denver Metro area at the intersection of 14th and Blake St. for driving under the influence of alcohol.[25] Marshall may even be suspended at least one or two games if he is convicted. His DUI trial is set for September 16. The Broncos open their 2008 season on September 8 and play Week 2 on September 14.[26]

Marshall was ticketed by Denver police for more traffic violations on June 12, 2008. He was pulled over for an illegal lane change, then found to be without his license and proof of insurance.[27]

According to an article published in the Rocky Mountain News on July 28, 2008, Douglas County deputies fielded "about 11" calls to Marshall's home since January, 2006. The article stated that one one call resulted in Marshall being arrested (the March 26, 2007 domestic dispute), and some did not involve him at all

Maybe a good kid...but so was Randy Moss and others of this ilk. trouble just seems to follow them, often not of their own doing admittedly.

hopefully he gets it together and this is the end of the nonsense.

SIgh...sorry for more Favre stuff but this hsould be the end of it for a while.

Sounds like the TB deal is all but done for Griese and a conditional pick ( likely Favre playing one more year on his contract).

Decent return IMO....going into a season with Rodgers/Brohm/Flynn is absolute insanity. At least should Rodgers get hurt/perform poorly, the Packers have SOME experience to step in and get things on track.

Let the barnum & Bailey circus move its 3 ring tent to Tampa now....and let the healing begin in GB.

Look for Jeff Garcia to ask for his release. He's already pissed that he doesn't have a contract extension and now he's being unseated as the starter after a Pro Bowl season last year.

Probably would be traded..to Minnesota. Not a bad fill-in while Jackson learns some more either.

He'd probably thrive there too. Great O-Line and running game to support him.

Forgot to mention that I got some good news last night. Apparently I have scored two free tickets (club seats) to the Nov. 2 Seahawks vs. Eagles game at Qwest Field.

Jeff Garcia must be the most underrated QB in the league. The guy gets absolutely no respect, even coming off a Pro Bowl season.

Not only that but he's led his teams to division titles in two consecutive seasons, in two of the toughest divisions in the NFL (Eagles in '06, Bucs in '07).

Agreed. Maybe it's just because he's a former Stampeder GC winning QB so I've got a soft spot for him, but its always bothered me. I would love to see the Bucs sign Favre and drop Garcia, and then have Favre basically fall on his face in Tampa and see Garcia light it up somewhere else(Minnesota?).

There are several teams Garcia could step in and help right away. Chicago, Minnesota, Baltimore, Miami, NY Jets all come to mind.

ESPN is reporting that Favre is traded to NYJ.

Finally this can go away now.

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested here March 6 on a misdemeanor battery charge, his third arrest in 12 months and second involving a domestic dispute.

Seems like a great kid who's got it all figured out.

How in the world does he get a mere 2 games? Seems Colin Campbell like level of consistency relative to other guys.

I'm going to go out on a limb and call Pennington to the Bears.

Miami Herald out of Miami is reporting that the Big Tuna is interested in Pennington after all this is a guy Parcells drafted back in 2000

http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/632652.html

What would be interesting here is

Week 1 NYJ vs Miami could be Favre (NYJ) vs. Pennington (Mia). Who would hvae thought that was possible, at the beginning of the offseason.?

Yes, he does.

He's not a thug. Look up the arrest records of Odell Thurman and Chris Henry and see what you find.

All I said was he didn't fit in with them in response to an honest question.

Then you baited me with yours, and I answered based on the timeline in this thread which clearly shows 3 arrests in a span of just over 1 year, but not within the last year....which is what you asked me. If you want to label him a thug go right ahead.

Get your fork ready.

Where's the precedent for a harsher suspension? And it's 3 games btw.

Exactly. I believe two of the charges stem from the same incident and the guy hasn't been convicted of anything yet. Way too soon to be throwing him in with the Pacman Jones crowd.
