Default iPhone/Touch 2.0.1 Out

250MB download. It's installing now, and it's all "bug fixes" according to the notes.

...no mention of which bugs it fixes, but whatever. Anyhoo, just plug into iTunes, and away you go!

I'm running 2.0.1

So far so good. Seems faster and definitely more stable.

Maybe it was just the hard reset, but I'm getting a bit better battery life too, at least at first. I was at the point where I was lucky to get through the day, and I'd lose half the battery bar overnight sometimes.. it didn't move last night after updating.

I had googled the battery issue last week and I read somewhere that said if you can upgrade your firmware you'll notice improved battery performance. The update wasn't released at the time but you could get it if you jumped through a bunch of hoops that I didn't care to jump through. Nice to see it available, I'll have to grab this tonight.

I'm still just in love with the whole idea of actually having a phone you CAN update. In the US most models of phones get updated firmware/software from the manufacturer or the carrier, but up here, other than maybe blackberry, companies expect you to use the same version of software for 3 years.

Looks like a lot of the hang-ups are fixed, especially when you first open your contacts, that was bugging me.

Gonna keep an eye on the battery today, that would be fantastic if it lasts longer.

How often do you all put the phone in the charger?

I charge my phone every night.

My battery life was brutal, charged everynight and the battery would die by like 9pm but since i updated i've been going strong since yesterday morning. 3/4 left right now, so it seems the update did fix it.

I just got mine last night and have been playing with it a fair bit. A little over 2 hours of usage, over 13 hrs of standby and I'm a shade over 3/4 of battery life...
