I saw a fantasy NFL magazine cover the other day claiming the Pats have the easiest schedule in the history of the NFL this year. Is this true? Will we see them go 16-0 again?

Don't Superbowl teams end up with difficult schedules normally?

It's their six divisonal games which is skewing everything -- two games each against 1-15 Miami, 4-12 Jets, and 7-9 Bills. Otherwise, this wouldn't be an issue.

Probably the hardest part of their schedule is the 5 non-divisional road games -- four on the West Coast (San Fran, San Diego, Oakland, Seattle) and one in Indy...

I don't think they'll go 16-0 again this season... but I think they'll be very good again.

And they still look a million times better than Favre does at this point.
Sure thing.

I just do not understand how a guy wanting to keep playing after having one of his 5 best years EVER somehow makes him look bad. Its ridiculous. One game away from a SB...and he should quit?

Again, he wants to play for the Packers, but they are saying they dont want him. Whats the problem with the guy wanting to play again exactly?

I’m telling you the Jets are going to upset the Pat’s in week two

Its not that he wants to keep playing the I have a problem with it is the constant retiring, crying, whinning about what a tough decision it is etc.

Over the past two offseasons Favre has handled himself like an ass, in my view. (Which is not surprising considering what type of guy he is)

Packers have every right to want to move on without a guy that seems to change his mind every five minutes on what to do.

Aaron Rodgers can easily throw up 50/50 balls and hope his receivers win the battle so why not give the young kid a chance anyways?

If that's exactly how it would've went down, there would be no problem. It's the fact that he retired. Then in March he reportedly told Thompson and McCarthy he was coming back. They prepared a press conference to announce it, and right before they were going to fly him in, he changed his mind. Again. So the Pack go into the draft, pick up arguably the best QB in the draft in Brohm(I'm not sold on Ryan), and another one in Flynn, not to mention their first round pick in '05, with Rodgers. They moved on, plain and simple.

Not to mention that I think McCarthy and Thompson seem like they're sick of the headaches Favre brings every off-season. And frankly I don't blame them. If Favre wanted to play another year, he should've said so from the start. Not sure Brett? Then tell them you need more time. I know the guy's a living legend, especially in Green Bay. But I dont think there's any denying he's handled himself very selfishly the past three off-seasons. This constant teeter-totter game every offseason makes Favre a high maintenance player. Not in the same way a Chad Johnson or Terrell Owens or Randy Moss is high maintenance. But keeping your team stuck in limbo all offseason is high maintenance. The Pack management is tired of it, and they've moved on.

John Lynch appears to be retiring.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/traini...ory?id=3511880

As someone who has been following Broncos camp fairly closely, this seems a bit strange. Their depth is at corner, not safety. In fact, they have moved Domonique Foxworth back to corner, his natural position, after he played safety last year.

I'm not sure who is taking Lynch's playing time because I haven't heard a buzz about any safeties at all!

The Packers have reportedly offered Favre $20M to stay retired.

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/...202/1989/GPG02

That's disgusting. I would've punched the guy in the face.

Weird. The article I read said it was McCree taking all of his reps but I'll trust you on this one.

In other news, apparently Lorenzo Bookers is blowing people away at Eagles camp. Any Dolphins fans on here have some insight on him? I guess he's looked just as good if not better than Westbrook in regards to speed and catching passes out of the backfield.

So now ESPN is reporting Favre is leaning towards taking the $20m + to not play and is only willing to play for a team within the division, effectively making it near impossible for the Packers to trade him. I just can't fathom how either side comes off looking like anything other than ridiculous from this soap opera.

Just lettin the Saints guys on here know that on Sirius NFL radio, they're live from Saints camp today, from 11am to 2 or 3pm. If you're not a subscriber and want to listen, go to siriuscanada.ca, and sign up for a free 7-day trial and listen online. They've already had solid interviews from Payton and Brees, and there's much more coming. The level of complete total access the Sirius guys are given on these training camp tours is really amazing.

...its just too bad Adam Schein isn't there this year. The guy has a bad case of "Saintsitis", as co-host Jim Miller refers to it, and Scheiner has admitted himself.

I mentioned this to Syl already, but the Chiefs organization has announced a "No Standing Rule" for this coming season in KC... I suppose in anticipation of a season filled with reasons to stand...

You know full well that if it was as simple as this they would not be in this quagmire.

It's the years of indecision in the offseason, and then this year the big formal retirement complete with tears that has created this problem.

They have now drafted 2 QB's on a Saturday because they have no idea what Farve wants to do ... that's tough to manage.

If the guy wants to change his mind, he has that right, but it is extremely tough for GB to manage, and I can completely understand if they feel handcuffed by Brett.

Years of indecision? I remember one summer of indecision. One. And they drafted Rodgers long before that....and likely only because he fell in their lap.

Moon, I think you've got a jaded view of the situation.

If the Packers want to put the best team on the field they will make Favre their starter. If they want to move on they should release him or trade him.

This $20M offer is an insult, and I don't care if somebody has reported he was leaning toward it. ESPN said within the last couple of hours that he's leaning toward reporting as soon as Goodell reinstates him which will be Monday. They have so much attention on this situation they can't even get their stories straight.
