That is just crazy. Words cannot express how unbelievable this attack was....The attacker clearly must have been insane, with severe mental issues. Anyone crazy enough to do this must have escaped from a mental institution; surely someone knows who this deranged **** is.

Wow.

The guy was long dead probably before the decapitation. He was stabbed about 50 times in the chest apparently.
And it was the guy sitting behind the man not the man to the side who I heard describe the event on the radio this morning.
Brutal.

He attacked the guy who was dozing with his head against the window. The poor guy never had a chance.

A concealed weapon would have done nothing except maybe give the guy with the knife a gun to use. If he had a gun I'm pretty sure the close door of the bus wouldn't have been as much of a deterrent.

This is so shocking - I can't even believe it's real...more like one of those Urban Legends you hear from a friend's friend who knew the girl that dated the guy's stepsister who once had lunch with the person who saw it happen. I mean, who hasn't ridden Greyhound before? And after this, who won't get on Greyhound and just have that thought sitting at the back of their brain that something like this could happen?

Clearly the guy was psycho and off his meds - and hopefully the victim never really woke up to know what happened but can you imagine being the people in the immediate vicinity of the incident? Say a few rows back even as you try and escape the bus? Holy god.....talk about nightmares....

Well apparently the guy was sitting at the front of the bus beforehand, and then after a short break (where he even chatted over a cigarette with another passenger) moved to the back of the bus and sat next to the kid.

Something doesn't add up here; maybe he knew his victim (or knew OF him?) I'd like to find out what the ethnicities of the attacker and victim are; I'm wondering if this might even be a hate / racial crime?

Caton said the victim boarded in Edmonton, was Aboriginal in appearance, and was wearing hip-hop clothing, and appeared to be a young man around 20 years of age.

So it was planned?

oh man, this is probably one of the freakiest murder stories ever...

The other people did a nice job keeping that maniac on the bus. At the end of the interview I was expecting the guy to commit suicide in the bus.

It wouldn't have made a difference for the victim, but it would have made the rest of the people on the bus a lot safer:

On another note, I think we should all petition the government to start up a knife registry.

Wow, this is one of the craziest stories I've ever heard. I can't imagine how the witnesses are dealing with this. I mean, it creeps me out just watching and reading the news reports.

This sounds like a plot out of some horror movie. Such a horrible way for a person to die.

I suspect the other passengers are gonna have nightmares about this incident for quite awhile.

I wouldn't call it completely 'random'. There was a degree of planning at least - who walks around with a butcher knife?!

If the victim was targeted or random.... guess we'll wait for more facts to come out.

What a crazy story. I feel for the people on the bus who witnessed the attack. I can't even imagine seeing something like that and the kind of nightmares I would have afterwards.

You'd be surprised. i used to know a few crazy idiots back in the day who would keep butcher knives on the inside of their pants. One of the guys even got arrested for carrying a concealed sword.

A concealed weapon would not have prevented this act. I doubt anything would have - it sounds like a guy snapped.

And to use this tragedy as an excuse to push your personal agenda is tactless.
