There's an eWallet out now too, $9.99 for that one. Store passwords, credit card #'s etc. They say they'll upgrade it to sync with a desktop version as well, I'll probably wait to see how that pans out.

My wife picked up Brain Challenge last night. Fun little game that can be surprisingly tricky. Kinda like Brain Age on the wii or DS. I'd recommend.

I'm also looking closely at Enigmo. It's a 3d puzzle game that I've heard is kinda like "the incredible machines" which was always a favorite of mine. Apparently you use various objects to direct streams of fluid. I might give it a shot.

The one big feature I would love is multitasking. When your OS is based on generations of multitasking technology, you'd think it would be a no brainer. And yet, applications can't be "minimized" or switched between. You can't run music in the background very easily.

I've found switching apps is the easiest way to cause a lot of weird freezups. Especially when your sitting at 20% battery.

Bah, we almost have copy/paste functions!
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13549_7-10001171-30.html

it only works within the one app, and the app hasn't been approved yet. Not terribly useful imo, but it's getting there.

I've found in my travels that the cnet iphone app blog to be useful:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8300-13549_7-30.html

edit: oh and a quick game update. My wife now has a touch and she's signed in using my itunes account, which means when I buy something she has access to it and vice-versa. I sent her an email yesterday which for some reason led her to believe that I purchased Enigmo. Of course she (thinking she could get it for free) went off and downloaded it. She was quite apologetic for the whole thing, but its a mistake i'm glad she made ... the game is really cool!

Yah I found that too. Especially if the application is loading something and you decide to jump back to the menu.

I downloaded Stanza last night. This is the most valuable program I've downloaded yet and its completely free. The amount of free books you can download with this program is staggering. Plus it formats the text to fit nicely on your screen and page turning is fantastic.

has anyone else checked out the bloomberg app?
It's free (not sure if it is going to stay that way).
But if you are at all interested in following the stock market, I don't think there is any better resource.

Checked out a few of the apps people recommended and compiled a short list of my favorites (ones I actually end up using)

- Stanza
- BrainChallenge
- EDUBlaster (simple game, but amusing)
- Last.fm
- Moonlight Mahjong lite

Looking forward to future apps! Apparently iD is going to get into the game: http://kotaku.com/365461/id-has-plans-for-iphone-gaming

Agreed. Excellent app, I wish I could delete the stock program that came with the phone to keep it from cluttering my home screen.

No kidding!

Also, I'm loving the new 1password app. Mac users should be familiar with the name.

There was an app on the older model phones that you could download via Installer called BossPrefs that allows you to hide certain icons (like stocks).

Is there anything like that on the app store?

That would be nice. I haven't seen anything like that.

It's a seriously wicked application. You can disable any part you want. EDGE, Wi-Fi, the phone part (turn it into a touch), other applications, you name it, BossPrefs can do it. It's awesome.

On Topic, does anyone else have troubles with Tuner? I have an US iTunes account, but the damn thing plays about 15 seconds...then nothing. Aol Radio, though, works like a charm

The only time Tuner gives out on me is if I have a poor connection. Either an elevator, or at a remote rural location. Otherwise, it works just fine for me. I downloaded it through a Canadian iTunes account, but I doubt that it makes a difference.
