Ex-Pandora Users (meemix.com)
I loved Pandora, opened me up to a whole new array of music I would never have encountered otherwise!
Anyways, stumbled upon this, thanks to some guy who works in a hostel.

I highly recommend http://last.fm as something similar to pandora. It's probably my favourite website on the internet.

Seconded. Plugs into any player you've got and can double as a streaming radio service.
It's also pretty sweet on the iPod Touch over WIFI. Might be a bit too much data for a Roger's iPhone though.

wierd, i got lots of hits of Robert Johnson. I like it cause it stay's in my music style more. I listen to Sonny Rhodes in last.fm and then next this I get is some electronica! only thing they may have in common is the albums from the 80's.

I'd be curious how much data it pulls down when streaming. I currently use it on a wifi network and I prefer it greatly to anything else out there right now.

My officemate has the 3G iPhone up and running and he said he has no issues. It certainly uses a lot more bandwidth, but nothing shocking so far.

Thanks for pointing out last.fm - awesome site.
I found this recently, it's a pretty good site, not too bad for finding live/acoustic stuff:

Use lastfm quite a bit at work. My only gripe is then only letting you select a song like 3 times before it only plays you a :30 snippet. At least when you are logged in with a profile. It's good for radio though, and unlike Pandora you can skip as many songs as you like.
For anyone who just uses it and doesn't log in, if you get the 30 second thing just delete your cookies and it will work again.
I've got the same username on there if anyone wants to see my terrible taste in music.

Yeah, I actually take my comment back. I only tried last.fm once and didn't like the immediate result. But after building my list, i'm finding it absolutely fantastic.

Had an idea!

I thought Canada's copyright laws were more lax than those in the US, so why won't they let us use Pandora up here?
I loved that site.

I am really enjoying this, I like that it automatically recommends new stuff to me based on what I like. Thanks for the heads up.
