Anyone know what's going on downtown at the courts centre today? Police weren't letting people in, huge crowds at all the corners because the entrance was all clogged up, and security not letting anyone park in front . . . . OH, they just let everyone in. Strange...

It was a fire/emergency/bomb drill. They have those here every now and then here. Every office gets a person with red plastic hat to make them feel special, there are lots of rules of follow, designated meeting places (the corners), people in casts get to walk down 40 flights of stairs...The usual government stuff.

I wonder what the chaos was like trying to get all the members of the public back through the x-rays and metal detectors was like.

That sounds like pretty usual fire safety stuff.
We do one of these every year in my office and we have nothing to do with the government.

Usually our fire drills happen the exact day after the "health and safety meeting" so I know when they are coming up.
