Especially seeing as Batman is considered a villain now. The Penguin is the perfect villain to start the movie... a Dapper Don type mobster who appears to be cleaning up the streets and going legit vs. a Batman who is considered to be a ruthless, unpredictable vigilante. Rupert Thorne works too... then bring in someone else to be his vicious right hand.
I really like this idea, I think it would work well, will be interesting to see what happens.

My vote would be Hugh Laurie; he'd be able to play it straight up and serious quite well to make the character fit with Nolan's universe, but with the right amount of quirkiness. He's a very good 'poser of questions', and in his role as House, he's shown a great ability to play an egomaniac while keeping his performance very restrained.

That said, I'd love to see Michael C. Hall as a villain in the series at some point.

I think BiPolar Bear would make an excellent villian.

just got back from the movie, was everything i hoped for. and it's still selling out a week after it's release, hell it'll probably still be the #1 movie this weekend (is X-Files gonna dent it? i think not). really looking forward to what they're gonna do with the 3rd one, though am quite sad that Ledger won't be a part of it. he should definitely at least earn an oscar nomination for that role

I really like Hugh Laurie, but he seems a bit old for the role i would think. I know people dont like him, but someone mentioned DiCapreo as the riddler and it really made sense in my head.

Dark Knight at $310million. That would make it 24th all time already and passing one of the crappy star wars movies, attack of the clones.

Wow. Lets catch up to Leonardo's ass now! Only $290million behind. hehe

Yeah, it's getting a lot of repeat business. Last movie I saw twice in theatre was American Pie. I'm going back to IMAX this weekend

Saw it last night and it lived up to the hype, what a dark and hopeless world Nolan has created, brilliant stuff for a major studio comic book film. Ledger's take on the devil errr. the Joker was as advertised, but Eckhart made the film for me, if his role didn't work it would have sunk the picture. Oh, and the genesis of the bat-cycle was darn cool.

While I agree this movie is great, why is this rater higher than THE GODFATHER and is the #1 movie on IMDB? That's jaw-dropping. It was a great movie, but it's not TIMELESS for heavens sake!

Saw it again for the 2nd time today. MUCH better the second time around. MUCH better. I understood every damn thing that was going on.

I found out what the disconnect was from the first movie, though. Bruce never once discusses his roots - his childhood, his parents, Ra's Al Ghul. This is what have the first movie a human element; something that, I thought, was lacking in the 2nd movie. There was a trifecta of Batman, Joker and Harvey Dent in this show. Hence, less focus on Batman and his personal development than in the first show.

Also, I don't like the way the Scarecrow was used in the 2nd show. People might not like him as a villian, but I do and I wish he was used to be a little bit more threatening in the show.

Dunno, having watched both for the first time in the last week(or so), I'm much more likely to watch Batman again.

Though I must say (haven't read the whole thread) I wasn't happy with the actor that played Dent, though maybe it's more true to the source material. I really liked Tommy Lee Jones, though that was a very different kind of movie and it really wouldn't have fit. I just enjoyed Jones in that one.

Its because of the initial hype right now. Godfather is probably the best movie of all time. The Dark Knight is amazing though, I think it will be regarded as somewhat of a classic in its own right as time goes on.

I said the same thing, but after almost 150,000 votes, it looks like it's going to be up there for a while....Usually the higher the votes, the more balanced it gets....I'm hoping the next 150k will straighten this out.

Kudos to Nolan's work, but best movie of all time? Far from it.

I also think Hush would be best to bring back the series full circle back to focus on Wayne and his family and history.

Or how about Talia Al Ghul to tie it back with Batman Begins? It would also wipe away the nasty need to get some sort of female role or love interest.

People are starting to say it could beat the $1.8billion that Titanic made worldwide.

I think it can.

I was looking at Time Warner stock about a week before the movie was released. It has done nothing at all! Still at $14.

Guess 1 movie does not have a big effect on their bottom line.
