Is this soap-opera "he slept with his girlfriend" stuff part of the show, or is it real?

Might not be fair, but that's what sells. I can't say this surprises me at all, although I haven't watched WWE in almost 10 years. Looks like things haven't changed at all.

Yes, it's real. Edge's wife phoned Matt telling him that Lita's(Amy Dumas) number was on their phone bill multiple times. He confronted Lita and she finally admitted that her and Edge had built up a romantic relationship before she was injured and when Matt was at home recovering from an injury of his own. Matt was actually suppose to be in Kane's spot for the ladder match at Wrestlemania but with what happened the WWE knew that it was a bad idea so they gave it to Kane. I had heard rumors that they were going to either move Matt or Lita and Edge to Smackdown but now it looks like that isnt the case.
As for Rhyno I heard he got into a fight with his wife at the Wrestlemania after party and destroyed a bunch of stuff at the place they were holding it and that the WWE was furious with him so him getting released doesnt surprise me.

Apparently they let Matt Hardy go due to the way he handled the situation. He was talking about it on his website. Unless that website was property of the WWE he had every right to do so, and if the site is owned my Matt Hardy then the WWE is saying that they would rather support two cheaters and fire the honest victim.

Although "Freedom of Speech" is important to Americans, Matt Hardy worked in a field where persona is important. He is built a charatcer, which is why an inside look into a wrestler's personal life is very rare. I'm sure WWE doesn't want to turn this into a story line. 5-10 years ago, maybe... now? Not a chance. It was a personal matter, and Matt was looking for fan support by posting it on his website.
The difference between Wrestling and any other show on television is that we are to believe that these characters are their real personas. I am aware that it is scripted, and that Kane isn't a burnt freak, who was a former dentist. All I am saying is to further the "believeability" of their characters, they need to keep that persona in the public, and Matt knew that.
Does that make what Edge and Lita did right... no. I don't condone those actions. All I am saying is that in the buisness that Matt Hardy is in, he should have known that exposing something that personal could be, and ultimately was, career suicide, atleast when it came to the WWE.
The bright side is... now we can expect a Hardy Boyz reunion in NWA TNA in 3 months. (90 days performance clause)
As for Rhyno, he needed to keep his emotions in check as well. Now it leads to the argument, which is more acceptable: Smashing a hugh valuable vase in a fancy hotel, or writing about your personal problems on a blog? Both get you the same result in the end.

But cheating with someones woman... Gets you nothing?
If the WWE cared about their image and storylines, Edge and Lita would have been gone too.

WWF(E) has a long track record for treating its wrestlers like crap when their time is up. Dudes girl cheats on him, and he gets fired after all he has done in the organization. Sad
P.S. Should this post be in the "Other Sports Forums" or is wrestling not classifiable as a sport?

The WWE doesn't want their roster's "secret lives" released. They are against internet sites that publish such informantion. Matt Hardy shot himself in the foot by posting such info on his personal website.
Again, I do not agree with what happened, both between Edge and Lita, and what happend to Hardy. I'm just stating what I have read.
The WWE would rather people deal with their problems personally than to see them drag it out in the public. Eddie Guerreo (sp?) was fired some years back durring his angle with Chyna due to substance abuse, and IIRC, he was arrested for DUI at the time as well. He delt with it quietly, and was brought back. He is now one of their more profitable stars.
It was a matter of how it was delt with, and Matt was the most expendable of the three.
As for Molly, she wanted out. She wasn't released against her will... it was asked for, as opposed to Rhyno and Matt asking for it, if you will.
