Philosophy 275 or 279.
I can't remember which , but it's the into to logic course.
If you can understand the difference between "and" and "or", then you're in good shape.

as a political science major, i'll recommend poli 283, issues and trends in world politics, only if taught by Antonio Franceschet. Any other prof, no guarantees...

I thought the geog are all easy, as well as econ, psyc, etc. The standards.
I have to take some 300 level SS this year, so keep the suggestions rollin' :-)

GLGY 309 and 305. The first is history of life, so paleontology, and the second is intro to dinosaurs. But I'm trying to get into that one, full.

Try Canadian Studies 201 and 355 IF taught by Max Foran. Dr. Foran is an outstanding professor who really engages students in critical thinking and the fact that he tries to learn students names makes him all the more caring a teacher!
You'll probably have a short-answer midterm and final as well an essay on a predetermined topic of his choice.
The essay is probably the most challenging part of those course as he expects lots of research; however, if you put in the effort, you'll get a good grade!

BIO 307
ARKY 325

I took this course!!!!!! And your assessment is bang on. Dr. Foran is outstanding, the term paper is ridiculously tough but he is interesting, encourages you to think for yourself (favourite question is "now what does that tell you?") and you never look at the clock once during his lectures

Seconded. Next to Allison Dube, Max Foran is one of the two best professors I've ever had at the university.

Do GEOG321 with Holden. Better yet, I insist. You must. It will be the best class you'll take. Trust me.
Ive done GRST321 (Ancient Tech), and it was pretty good.
Ive also done CNST 335? (Canadian Humour and Culture), it was good, get to watch tons of YouTube videos everyday.
And I vote for ECON321 with Tracy. The guy is great, and his tests are pretty much given to you in advance.

Great class. Wasn't as easy as I thought, but I still got an A-. The final exam is the hardest test of that class.

I'll third that. Foran was my favourite prof at the U. Hs stories about early Calgary are awesome. BTW He's going to be on City TV this week talking about Calgary's growth as a city.
My only slight against the guy was that in one of my 200 level courses he took attendance on Fridays. It hampered my Thursday nights/Friday afternoons at the Den (before the Den was renovated and turned to crap).

Formal logic courses can actually be tough. Trust me.

Here's one from the left side - take any of the intro Linguistics classes...they're fairly interesting till you get into the later courses when you're hooked into it for your degree......(and yes, that was what happened to me)
Failing that, I always found Cdn Studies generally a great way to spend time and very interesting.
