I got summoned for JURY DUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!! !!!!
This is wicked. I always wondered what it would be like.
It came in a regular envelope and I have to respond in 5 days. Unfortunately I am excluded from being a juror (I knew I would be ineligible), but it's still cool to have been asked. I actually wish I could do it so I could see what it would be like.
I might have to hire Intensity Fan or another lawyer on here to do a constitutional challenge for me.

Yeah, I believe killer is a lawyer.
I have been called on twice, but have not been selected. The whole process was actually sort of cool, and I would have liked to be a part of our judicial system.

Maybe he's racist. You can't serve jury duty if you're racist either

I served on jury. It was a neat experience. And at the time was a nice little second job for a bit.

My old man got summoned for this many years ago. He went to the barn in the morning and did his chores, cleaned out the cattle, fed them, etc. He then proceeded to go to the court room without changing...on purpose. He didn't want to do it that badly. Needless to say he didn't get selected and has never been asked back, LOL!
My own plan was to copy-cat that program of Fresh Prince where the guy says he can tell if someone is guilty just by looking at them. I can't imagine the reaction you'd get.

I was summoned and very nearly selected for that trial where the farmer shot the oilco workers(?) that were trespassing on his property. That would have been a long one...

I got a jury summons once in the mail as well.
I was so not excited. Have to get time off of work, and you get paid very little for being on a jury.
But when I called the number, the trial i was supposed to be a juror for had been delayed or called off. So I never even made it to selection.

So... you could just say "It's against my values to judge" and they just lay off? Crazy.

My wife served on a jury once, and it was actually a pretty high profile case in Calgary at the time. She let the bitch go too! LOL.
I have a brother-in-law who was summoned as well. He was released when asked his occupation. Butchers don't make good jurors I guess, go figure. I would love to get asked myself.

I'd find a way out of it, somehow. Jury money is pretty much nothing and I know my work would not pay me for it.

I got a letter a couple of months ago but like someone else I called the day before selection and it was cancelled. Too bad cause I would've got off work with full pay and was looking forward to it.
