Who cares?
Bale is the man, and that's from seeing the Prestige. One of the best, and move underrated movies to have come out the last little while.
As for me Terminator, sign me up. Love the Terminator series, the movies (yes all three) and the TV show.

I'd still like to see an old school Cylon walking through the background with guns ablazing in Terminator Salvation.
That would be above hilarious.

You didn't see the deleted scenes where Phaneuf hip-checked that Truce to outer space and the War resumes.

actually from what i've read the next movie will be taking off from the series and not the 3rd movie. i believe they're just going to pretend that T3 never existed because it screwed with the timeline too much

The problem with continuing the Terminator series is that it's based around a time travel plot. There is no way to prevent judgement day, as has already been established. If you did, you'd create a temporal paradox: If skynet doesn't come to be, the Terminator doesn't exist; but he does so skynet must exist, but it doesn't....
The only place this new movie can go is having a story set in the future where they battle Skynet and maybe overcome it. At which point it just becomes Reign of Fire but with robots and lasers instead of dragons and battle-axes. Christian Bale may be the bomb, but not even he could ressurect that tired plot.
And there is no way they could ever duplicate Matthew McConnaghy leaping through the air with a battle axe only to be eaten by a big ass dragon. That scene made me cheer almost as much as the time Steven Seagal was killed off 10 minutes into Exective Decision.
Perhaps I'm being a crusty curmudgeon, but just don't have any hope for these big series where they basically retread tired story lines in pursuit of more money while completly ruining the original material. Terminator will always be a 2 movie franchise; Indy will be a trillogy ending with him riding off into the sunset (and no La'Beef); Star Wars begins on Tatooine and ends at Endor.... etc.

Totally agree with that. I picked that movie up thinking, "Huh, never heard of this but it's got Christian Bale so it must be good"......umm, no. Not good and even worse was his acting in it. I too am like many others who absolutely loved American Psycho and how well he played that character but clearly he's not meant for any roll as Recue Dawn was not his style at all.
On topic, I think playing John Conner could be more up his alley and look forward to seeing the new Terminator movie with him it. Hopefully it's a lot better than the 3rd one and it would be amazing if it's as good as T2, but highly unlikely.

McG? The guy is a crap director, I would be highly surprised if this is any good, no matter who is playing in it. And frankly I'm surprised the writers of Catwoman could get any work other than porno scripts and maybe concocting wrestling storylines.
Who makes these decisions, anyway? Is there someone out there who actually says, "Yeah, Catwoman, that was a good flick! Find me the guys who worked on that!"

Maybe they are going to turn this into what batman has become, a completly new take on and old sub par series.
The new Batman movies >>>> the older ones
Maybe the new Terminator moves will >>>> the older ones.

Let's hope so. Going from director James Cameron to director McG, and expecting anything short of Cameron's work, even in the comic-book movie era in which the Dark Knight has completely raised the bar, is a serious leap of faith.
Hopefully this turns out.

Sub par? Terminator 2 is better than the whole Batman movie series combined! (new one withholding)

I agree, Terminator 2 should now be considered an all-time classic. The only thing that eclipsed it's plot, action, and character development is it's high replay value.
As a series, Nolan's Batman franchise may get up there with other greats such as LOTR and Star Wars, but as a stand alone movie, T2 is better than any Batman movie out there. Maybe the Dark Knight will prove me wrong.
