Default Penn West Energy

Hello All,

A quick question for any one on the forum that has dealt with, been hired on with, or had any sort of past experience with Penn West Energy.

How are they as a company to work for? Are they a good/great employer to work for? How are the benefits? Any other information about the company that is valuable to know about?

Thanks in advance.

-FoB.

My wife used to work at Penn West maybe 5 years ago, she liked it well enough. She works for CNRL now but just started so she's getting to know the place.

Damn you Doug, Damn you.

Aren't all companies in the oil patch rumored to be sweatshops and none of them really turn out to be?

Both are sweatshops (aka run by Mr. Murray Edwards, although PW isnt anymore since they went trust a few years back).

CNQ has the golden handcuffs on everyone so I dont think too many people want to leave.

I have a pretty good friend who has been there for years (around 8-10) and raves about it as being a great place to work.

Not that it matters but a shocking amount of employees are from Nova Scotia, all seem to be 'x' grads.

Looks like a good place to work, I don't get the impression that it is a sweat shop ... but CNR certainly is.
