In other news, I have a shiny new softball-sized bruise on my shoulder. Life is good.

SW is making positive strides. The defence had a few double-plays and scoreless innings. We even had the lead for a while in one game.
The ComBAT is the bomb. Many of feel like we were hitting better than ever with it. FlamesKickAss was robbed of two legit home runs by the prevailing wind.
Pete's Pub is adding something a little less spicy on the menu for flamesinyoureyes - the Little Mermaid Happy Meal.

Well Trout, if it helps we dropped both our games last night too. Both by one run. Think that puts us back to 0.500 or just over now.
The second game was a gong show. Ump was brutal, and both teams were seething over horrible calls. Then both teams got on each others nerves and it was looking to get really ugly when the lightning started and we called it quits.

Are you guys keeping league officials informed of this? Softball Calgary should be refunding you the cost of an ump for each game they miss.

It's not Softball Calgary that runs this league. It's Big League Sports. And yes, they should be notified about each game that an umpire didn't show. I would be looking for compensation too.

Hey,
Calgary Puckers SW is going to play an exhibition game tonight against my other team: Swing, Baby.
Have about 7 members of SW going to play, so could use a couple more.
Optimist diamond 9 1930.
Let me know if any of you central team puckers would like to come out.
Fred: THERE ARE FENCES!!!!! No running and running.
Swing, Baby is also short 4 players, so there is the oppurtunity to play against SW if you like.
The reason is the second team in Swing, Baby's double header has forfeited. Might as well take advantage of the diamond and the ump.
Let me know so I can keep an eye on numbers.
Aeneas.
ps: FKA: are you going to bring Puckers beer?
