Default How do you like your KD?

Whipped up some KD for dinner. Added in some grated cheese as well as the usual hot sauce and ketchup. What about the rest of you?

I add a slice of velveeta cheese, and a couple of hotdog weiners cut into 1/2 inch lengths.

Top with ketchup and serve.

All I need is some bacon in there and I'm happy.

I used to eat KD for lunch around once a week or so when I was a kid. I'd eat it 3 ways. Either plain, with black pepper, or with ketchup.

I cannot stand ketchup on my KD. I like to have just fresh pepper and hot dogs or if I feel up to it I add a spoonful of salsa and crumble up some nacho chips.

I like it made by someone else. I can't cook to save my life, so anytime I attempt even KD, I manage to screw it up. I usually put too much milk in so it doesn't taste cheesy at all, or I put too much butter and it tastes just like butter. So, definitely prepared by someone else, with some tomatoes chopped up in it.

This may not be for everyone, but what I usually do is buy two boxes. Only make one of the boxes, but take the cheese packets out of both boxes, and use it for only the one box you are cooking. Pathetically I've been told by multiple sources that I make the best KD they've ever had, so you may want to listen to me on this one.

My KD special:
- Use the Egg Noodle type
- Make as usual
- Put in a casserole dish
- put in sliced wieners
- Crumble Potatoe chips, bacon bits, and cheese over top
- Bake in oven until everything is a golden brown.

Yum.
And healthy!

Haven't tried it myself, but Chef Rob Feenie published a tasty sounding KD recipe a while back in the Globe...

Grodey.

Anything with creamed corn is gross. But KD? Man. That's just wrong.

I'm not sure if you have the store "The Bulk Barn" *link* out there but if you do (or something like it) they sell the cheese powder. Then you can make it as cheesy as you want!

I put a lot of Frank's Red Hot Sauce, grate a bit of cheese on it, sometimes I add some frozen peas to the mix.
