The troutman family went Saturday evening.
The rides are a real rip-off. Spent $50 on coupons, and the boys used them up in about 20 minutes.
The "free" stuff seemed like more fun. Ex. they really liked getting into the armed forces vehicles near the Saddledome. We had fun trying out the video games in the Big 4 Building - what is better? Guitar Hero or Rock Band? Was disappointed you had to buy tickets to play all the games in the Hockey Canada exhibit. Food court in the basement was not bad - better than the food on the midway.
We were given free rush tickets to the chuckwagon/grandstand show. The boys were only interested in 1-2 races, so we came back later for the show and fireworks. Normally I don't care for "song and dance", but this show had plenty of pyrotechnics. Destroyer, a Kiss tribute band, did Rock And Roll All Nite. And the Young Candians lip-synced a medley of hits. Costumes were good.
Fireworks at the end were really good.
Lots of jerks smashed out of their mind looking for trouble.

Oh, and I also won a mini-guitar (ukelele?) for my fiancee at the game where you shoot the water gun at the target. I was so thrilled just to win something, I couldn't have cared what it was.
I agree, there were a lot of drunk and stupid kids there late at night. The fireworks were impressive, though! We're heading back next Saturday to see Dierks Bentley at the Coke Stage.

My god, I can't believe there are actually people that thought the deep fried twinkie was good.
I bought one, thinking "How awesome is this going to be?" and man was I disappointed.
I've never been more ashamed in my life (not that I wasted $3, but just sort of that, I can't believe I just put something that gross in me sort of feeling)
I couldn't even finish the first bite.
Horrible.

I went Saturday with my sister, her husband, and some of their friends. All they seemed to be interested in was drinking, so I was the odd one out. Whatever, still had a good time. Checked out the Super Dogs, went on a few rides. Bought 50 tickets at Macs for $35, and didn't even use them all since nobody really was in the ride mood for the most part, except for me. Checked out Tupelo Honey at the Coke stage. Not a huge fan of them, but my sister wanted to see them for like the millionth time....LOL. Prices weren't bad for food I thought, but for a diet Coke it was like $4 for like a small pop.
I'm kinda thinking I might go again Wednesday night to see Puddle Of Mudd.

What is an Indian Taco? My brother and I were talking about these and speculated, but we never saw them on the grounds. I will be back a couple more times this week (I just like the Stampede...) so would be curious for sure!

I have no idea. Unfortunately I was stuffed by the time I got down there or else I would've had one myself.

I really enjoyed watching Replay -- the Beatles Tribute on the Coke stage during the day. Nice time to just sit and relax a bit and they did a really good job, they did 60s stuff in the morning show and 70s in the afternoon, even had a costume change haha.

Did anyone see the rodeo today?
My girlfriend was there and she said that some bullrider got knocked unconscious and then the bull stomped on his head multiple times. Apparently he got taken off in an ambulance, they stopped the rodeo and the announcer was saying that everyone should pray he survives. WTF?!???

I heard on the radio last night that he was in stable condition.
I saw something similar at Rodeo Royal a couple of years ago. A bronc rider was bucked, but his one foot was stuck in the stirrup, so the bronc was dragging him around the arena while crushing him.
I enjoy the rodeo generally, but that image gets stuck in my head every time I go.

Deep fried oreos was like eating a chocolate donut. Hot beef sundae would have been good if it weren't so bloody salty. Taco in a bag was good. Very filling. I'm gonna go work out now.

I was lucky enough that I went with a couple of really close friends so that I could share. So I don't feel as shatty as I didn't eat all of it.
