Maybe contact a local beekeeper club, get them out to do the sedation by fumigation thing, bag, box and relocate the nest?
Then stick one of them fake hives in.

Put an inch or so of water in the bottom of a shop vac along with some dish soap.
Then, suck the nest, wasps and all, to their demise with the hose (and the longest extension that you have).

This would be my advice, contact a local beekeeper.

This isn't true at all. A quality fake nest will freak the wasps out, because they almost never have the courage to check out a nest that is bigger than theirs, and they can't function in the vicinity of a more dominant nest. It may not always work but if the OP is really concerned about not killing the buggers this is pretty much the only way to go.
Personally I recommend finding their nest late at night and using hair spray and a lighter. Or if you can't bear to kill them yourself leave out a 3/4 glass of liquer. They'll come for the sweetness, get too drunk to fly, and drown in it.

Hang brown paper sandwich bags where you are getting hornets, I used to have a problem, it works, trust me.

Shoot the nest with a shotgun then run inside and hide for a month.

If the wasp nest is established and built to the point of having eggs in it, the wasps will not abandon the nest and the eggs.
If you put on all the protective clothing as I suggested and do the removal during a cool evening, you will be fine. We have done this numerous times, no bites. But you have to do it at night, and it has to be cool when the wasps are not very active.

Ok, gonna first try the fake nest thing. Then if that works, gonna call a beekeeper. I'm still way too chicken to try redforever's advice.

I'm sure you do, but they're my wasps and they're not getting torched. At least not by me.

So say you get the wasps nest in the bag... then what do you do with it? Leave it on the neighbours doorstep, ring the bell, and run?

Um....in my experience, beekeepers won't come and relocate wasps nests...at least they wouldn't come and get mine. Wasps and bees are not the same.

Ok then, let's just hope the fake nest works.

Just give the nest a good roundhouse kick. That'll teach 'em.
