Yeah just got back. Unfortunately I hadn't checked the radar prior to the warning going out. I got out there as fast as I could but the action had moved too far east and it was all a bit of a mess. The whole system was huge, spanning the entire eastern horizon.
Blackarcher was out there too and he was actually caught in the storm as it moved east around Trochu. Apparently he got some good storm pics (he didnt see the tornado), maybe he'll post some.
But the emergency announcer clearly said Beseeker twice, figured a guy in that position would know how pronounce these things. Guess with the labour shortage.....
Yea, I heard it and felt stupid for not recognizing the names of the towns around my city.
The Weather Network just showed a video of the tornado. Looked like a good one. What a kick in the dink...I cant believe I didnt check things out sooner this afternoon.

They mess up the small-town names more often than we realize. Tornado and severe storm warnings for the village of Rockyford (an hour east of the city) have, for years, been issued for "Rockyland" (good thing residents are aware of this), and the village of Hussar (pronounced huh-ZAR) is always pronounced as "HUSS-er". Again, good thing they know that Environment Canada means their town or they'd miss out on all of their warnings.
Wow, what a day. Like KG, I kick myself for not leaving earlier (if I left 15min before I did, I probably would have been in a much better position). I'm going to do my own forecasting from here on in so I don't have to rely on crappy EC forecasts (which was nothing really).
Video of "tornado" from a youtube user and most likely the guy that created the warning (note, I'm not sure if it's appropriate to call 911 for weather unless you know someone is injured, best call the severe weather line at EC 1-800-239-0484 which the non-emergency line told him to do). Anyone know him? Always need more spotters in the network.
A pic I took of the storm further to the north. It ended up holding me up too much for me to catch the south tornadic storm.
