Not sure how adventurous/travelled you are but maybe a place like Thailand for a honeymoon, once you get the costs of flight out of the way everything is really cheap. If you end up on the coastal areas it's beautiful and a lot less crowded.

Congrats. If you're looking for somewhere in the SW I would recommend The Ranche in Fish Creek Park...that's if you're not looking for something too big. Perfect location for nice, simple pictures...and you can have the wedding outdoors. I've been to a couple of weddings there before and it's a pretty nice place. here's their website: http://www.crmr.com/theranche/ |

Congrats you poor sucker...We used Joining hearts Studio for photography.... really inexpensive and good!!! Reception: the top floor of the International Hotel (although they didn't serve Kokanee 5 years ago, I cried at my own wedding because of this!) Music: can't remember, so wasn't that good... If it's a small wediing, the Delta Atrium on Macleod and Southland isn't bad and I think inexpensive (No, I'm not cheap, just don't like to part with my money...)Book Now!!!

Yes, CONGRATS.

I second Puerto Morelos. Excellent place to visit. Go to the Excellence Riviera Hotel. High end all inclusive hotel. Couples only. No reservations for meals and top shelf liquor all the way. PM me for details if you like.

Cieba del Mar, north end of town, is very nice too. We rented a villa, but then we were a party of 6.

Go to Hawaii for the honeymoon. I recommend the Island of Kaui. Really beautiful and peaceful. It has some nice sites and it is not busy busy with the tourists as Waikiki and the rest of the places on Oahu. Although I do recommend staying one or two nights in Waikiki and taking a shuttle to Pearl Harbour. You never know if/when you'll get back to Hawaii and I think Pearl Harbour is a must see.
Oh, and congratulations on your engagement!

I got married on that Paddle Wheel boat in Heritage Park.
 Reception at the Wainwright afterwards.

Yuo can have a Horse drawn carriage pick you up at the boat and drive you around the park for a quick tour while your guests are heading to the reception area.

Awesome food. Only issue I had was you had to be out by 1:00 am.

I got married at the Leighton Art Centre. It is a very nice place for an outdoor wedding. The view is incredible. We also had our reception at the Dewinton Community hall which is also a nice location.http://www.leightoncentre.org/ |
