The guy is a middle aged fat man with no prior experience with this. Yeah, it's probably torture, but he lasted what, 4 seconds? You guys are all giving him props like he's some kind of hero for it. He isn't the first, he won't be the last, and even one person in this thread has a buddy dumb enough to do it.

This has nothing to do with machismo.

He didnt lose a bet or accept a dare, he is trying to understand why so many people feel that this is an acceptable way to treat others, even detainees and then share that understanding with those who condone this behaviour.

Remember, the words 'detainee' and 'criminal' are not necessarily synonymous. Its an important distinction that many find convenient to ignore.

The acceptance and/or endorsement of any kind of torture is a slippery slope. Whats to say that having your fingernails pried out with plyers or cigarettes extinguished on your skin isnt the next?

Waterboarding could be a 'gateway' torture method....

I've heard plenty about waterboarding but never seen it. I thought it was something completely different. At first, I thought why the hell are they pouring vinegar on this chap? Then he gave up... lol

I thought it was a lot more water intensive, with splashing and waves and dolphins and crap.
