Is it bad that I watched it while flying from Wetlands to Stormwind?

"World of Warcraft: It has nine million players worldwide, many who say they spend hundreds of hours playing the game every week."
LOL. 200 hours > 1 week.
Doesn't come anywhere near the South Park episode though.
PS Who's the chick in your sig?

Personally, I'm disappointed that they put FP's in places like Ratchet and Forest Song. If I had to suffer with those long-ass runs when the game first started, the noobs can damn well suffer with them now! </oldtimer>

The next patch will allow you to get mounts at lvl 30.
I think they're making it much easier to level so people will have an incentive to get the next expansion.

They have already made it super easy with the XP boost from quests and the new quest area in Duskwallow.

People keep complaining that the game gets easier, but I see it more as a buisiness strategy.
The WoW population has gotten mature (lvl wise). If I wanted to get a friend into the game, I'd need to wait while they level up all the way to 70 which could take the better part of a year (assuming they have a life). By speading things up, Blizzard makes it easier for established players to recruit friends. By extention, making it easier to level up alt characters also keeps player in the game longer, generating more revenue then if people left to go play another game.
So basically, the easier they make the leveling process, the more happy I am. Means less time spent on the game doing stuff that really doesn't matter any more.
I anticipate that the great WoW killer will likely be Diablo 3. I know I will likely end up playing Diablo 3 more then WoW when it's finally released. It's easier to drop in to a group and start doing stuff without having to find a tank and healer and 3 competent dps. WoW's biggest issue is the requirement for specific classes in dungeons. If they removed all tank classes and made healing classes more like shadow priests (damage while healing group members), I'd bet people would have a lot more fun and we would spend a lot less time waiting in the LFG channel.

I agree with you on the reasoning. I'd be curious to see what proportion of players already have lvl 70 toons? Many of the lower level players I seem to see are alts. As you say, it is a long tough grind to get to 70, and if you are doing it by yourself it is easy to quit. When I joined, one of my friends had recently started an alt, and soon we leveled up to another friend's alt, so from mid-20s up I had a similar leveled group I could call upon for group quests. If I didn't have that, I'm not sure how long I could have played. Allowing mounts earlier is a good step, although with my first character I didn't really know what I was missing; it is only since I started another that I miss going from my Netherwing Drake to running, before that I didn't really notice it too much (although running back and forth across Darkshire did get tedious in a hurry).
But you can already do what you propose - its called a Shaman. It isn't as good a healer/raged DPS/melee DPS as a class dedicated to that aspect, but it is made to do all 3. Druids can do multiple things, although a re-spec can be needed. Pallys can heal or tank pretty darn well. If they made a Shadow Priest able to heal AND DPS equally well then the game would flood with shadow priests. I understand what you are meaning, and I agree to a point, but I think the balance between classes is something very tricky to fiddle with.
Most games that attempt to encourage team play do something like this, whether it is tank/dps/heals or engineer/infantry/medic. To do otherwise turns the game into more of a single player game, which is fine, but is a different type of game.

I'm glad for that new area in Duskwallow. 35-40 is the worst stretch of the game by far. Nice to have more options.

Heh, my main character is a Druid that I tank, heal or dps with depending on my mood.
Personally I think a game that removed the need for a "tank" would be the best. It better suites the mindset of the majority of players and would make dungeon crawling more exciting and less routine. Think of the gameplay of Diablo 2, but with the depth of WoW's skill system. Guild Wars came close to that formula except that the combat feels too automatic and not quite as exciting.
Course, such a game would drastically change the concept of raiding. But I'm relatively certain that would be a good thing. Most raids I've done have been akin to pulling one's own teeth out.

The only people that complain about the game being easier are the ones that can't benefit from the changes. When they made 20-60 easier, I was already 64, so I just decided I'll take advantage of the new system with an alt.
And now that mounts will be level 30, I'll make another alt when I'm finished with my current one, lol.

On Bronzebeard (alliance):
70 Druid
65 Mage
54 Warlock
46 Shaman
Various lowbies
On Duskwood (horde):
24 Druid
21 Rogue
16 Priest
I actually deleted a 61 pally. In as much as they've buffed the class since I took it to 60 two years ago, it was still dreadfully boring to play, imo.

On Dethecus (Alliance)
70-Warrior
70-Priest
30-Shammy
Tons of lowbies, deciding what class I want next.
There is a few people in our guild with 5+ 70s, it is a little ridiculous.
