Shaw will be broadcasting the Hitmen-Wheat Kings series for round two, as per Fan960.

I've heard in the past that Shaw's plans was round one in the West - Kelowna-Vancouver, and round two and three in the east, and, of course, the finals. If true, then every remaining Hitmen game will be televised. Hopefully televised right up to the Memorial Cup.

I have a friend who works for Shaw doing behind the scenes stuff on the WHL broadcasts, and he led me to believe that the reason the Giants/Rockets series was shown in the first round was because Vancouver was the largest market for them to televise to.

I thought I heard that Sportsnet West would also be picking up WHL playoff games.

Well, it doesn't really matter if that's the rationale, as Calgary is now the largest market left in the playoffs.

Guess we'll get to see the Wheatkings on TV for the next month. Kick-a$$!

I e-mailed Sportsnet the other day and they said they have no future plans to pick up an CHL playoff games until the Memorial Cup. A huge disappointment IMO.

Rats. Must have just been speculation then.

So will we get Mark Stiles play by play on TV with Kerr doing radio?

Yeah, Mark Stiles, I would think. And here's hoping we still get old Jimmy Playfair as the colour guy.
