I was wondering if the CP brain trust knows of any good Pho restaurants in the NW. I normally go to I think its called Saigon Y2K but I was hoping to venture out and find another one.

Pho Thanh in the Hunterhorn Plaza on 64th just off of Deerfoot. That place is pwn. And if you're looking in the South, I always go to Golden Bell on MacLeod and I think 55th Ave. Both those places are cheap, fast and tasty.

Saigon Pearl in Harvest Hills is pretty good. I'd definitely recommend going there.

I've enjoyed the restaurant simply named "Pho" at Deerfoot Meadows, just across from Best Buy.

Is Pho Kim still around? man i loved that place...people have no idea how good Vietnamese food in Calgary is. Beats anything I've eaten anywhere on the east coast, that's for sure.

Pho Ahn Huyen (I think that's the name) on center street is excellent, definitely my favorite in the city. I generally have their noodle bowls, but my wife, who's very picky about these things, says that they have the best quality of beef of the many local pho places we've been to.

Across from McMahon? It was good last time I went there, but it's been a few years.

I used to go here all the time, until they changed owners and revamped everyone in the kitchen. Tried afterwards and it was not good anymore.

Very good. Highly recommended. I'd go here if I didn't live so far from it, and I'm rarely in that area.

It's Le's Pho. Not bad, but not for the price. I guess they cater more to Caucasians, so they charge more.

That place should go out of business. It's garbage.

I live in Coventry, and I rarely go to this place. I don't like their beef. It's like it's sat out for a day or something.

There's another place just off McKnight on Edmonton Trail, though again I s'pose that's NE as well, but I think it's called Pho 617 or something? That place is fairly good as well.

No! That place was quite good. I haven't been there in ages but I was always impressed every time before.

To the OP, whatever you do, don't go to that place in Silver Springs. It is, bar none, the worst Vietnamese restaurant in town. And I've been to some pretty bad ones.

It's Pho 5xx. Sorry, I can't remember the exact number either. lol

Our family knows the owner. Great place to eat, but it's a little bit small so it's a bit of a long wait depending when you go.

It's called PHO501 (501 McKnight Boulevard NE) - it's not bad... There are much better Pho places I'd rather go, however it's close to my work, so we do end up there quite often.

Perhaps I have been there too many times... and have grown tired of their Pho? |
