I would play if I didn't have mother blanking vista
I've been playing it for the last two hours, on my laptop running 64bit Vista.
It works fine in Vista, just need to patch the game after you install it (understandable, after all, since the game came out 6 years before Vista did).
Oh man, this is exciting. Too bad it will be a while until we get to play this game. Maybe next Christmas? Who knows...
Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised with what they shown us. After watching that 20 min demo in somewhat high quality I give thumbs up for the new graphics engine and the quality of the action.
I'm dying to know more about the game mechanics and such(weapons, sockets, gems, runes etc), but I would prefer if the graphics were darker, with a more gothic feel. Here's what I'm talking about:
If we could get SC2 by this Christmas it would be enough to hold me over until D3 is released!
It looks absolutely fantastic, I am so glad they basicaly kept the original "from above" view, I was affraid they will make it look just like another hyper duper 3D mess on the gaming market (Hellgate London, anyone?). Thank god Blizzard again did not dissapoint. Can't wait!
I'm rather quite glad I was wrong about the splash screen. Diablo3 looks like it's going to waste a lot of my spare time.
I'd love it if they keep the cleaner graphics. Not sure I agree with the comment about making it more "gothic". Those "How it should look like" shots just look overly busy and messy.
Had at least one of each class and all made it through Hell. But my magic finding Sorceress was by far the best. Got to Level 99.... solo. THAT was a lot of work though.
Since it's been about 4 years since I last played it (and I'm playing a brand new account), I'm whipping through right now as a Barb. I have a Sorc and an Assassin rolled up and each are halfway through Act1. Think I'll go Sorc next.
...of course, this all sucks big time. I just got rid of MSG4 because I thought it was going to eat up too much of my Summer.
I really hope they don't change the art direction. The "How It Should Look" screen shot looks like it falls into the trap of current generation games looking like they are being viewed through a coffee filter. If people want that kind of look they can turn down the gamma.
The graphics were never what made the games creepy to me, it was the atmosphere, the music and the sound effects that stuck with me.

Yep! The "magic" to Blizzard's games isn't in the artwork and the box covers, it's in the gameplay, mood and atmosphere.
WoW looks "cartooney" at first, but once you get used to it, it's one of the most realistic and immersive game environments I've ever seen.
