I am beyond pumped for this. I'm scaring all my friends telling them I'll be at the theatre opening night wearing nothing more than my Batman t-shirt and Batman boxers!

Seriously, the closest IMAX theatre to me is a 4.5 hour drive away in Halifax. I will be making a road trip to see this movie in IMAX

I'm also really looking forward to this movie, but I am also apprehensive about it being a huge Heath Ledger fan. I still haven't been able to watch a movie of his since he died and I'm not sure I want this one the be the first. I might have to ease into it by watching A Knight's Tale.

Does anyone know how exactly Harvey Dent becomes Two-Face?

In the comics it was because he was the DA against someone in the Maroni family and the Maroni guy threw the acid to show his family was still friends with the Falcone family IIRC.

That doesn't seem likely in this movie.

I have to say I am surprised a movie like this is getting so much buzz when that Mike Myers movie where the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup opens this Friday...

There's a clip somewhere showing it. Looks like acid on the floor or a wall and he gets pushed into it

I noticed something in the latest trailer that might be a hint (find below in possible spoiler white)

The trailer shows Dent's face (half of it) being held down against a gasoline soaked floor and then it shows a match (or lighter) being lit.

Spoiler in white

I love how that shot gives a mirror effect...signifying the birth of Two-Face just as match is about to be lit.

nope, I have to disagree. the best line in that movie is jack sitting behind the desk...smears the blood off the newspaper..does the sinister laugh and then does the "ooooo oooooo ooooooo ooooooo ooooooo*sinister laugh* Wait'll they get a load of me!"

that showed a seriously demented Joker and Jack Nicholson! best line ever!

Yeah, that was a good one too. Jack was awesome.

I'm actually really looking forward to the Gotham Knight now more than Dark Knight

http://www.warnervideo.com/batmangothamknight/

To put it succinctly, when I am reading Bats in comics, I don't hear any of the major actors. I hear Kevin Conroy.

Respected film critic Peter Travers has the first official review of the film for Rolling Stone magazine. And he's brought out the Oscar card for Ledger's performance....

I'm so very excited about this movie. It's definitely one to see in theatres I think, and to own when it comes out on DVD. Sounds like it will live up to expectations.

He gives me chills when I hear him do the Joker laugh, I can't wait to see the movie. With this cast, it's just got to be good.

4th trailer is out too... basically the same as the 3rd, but a few more shots and a little new dialogue.

And yes, Heath Ledger looks like he's really pushing the boundaries of acting insane with this one. "When the chips are down, these civilized people will eat each other. You'll see."

I love that line from the Joker

Just the way he says it…

one thing that bodes well is that Christopher Nolan seems to get such good performances out of his actors. Guy Pearce in 'Memento'; Hugh Jackman in 'The Prestige'; and he's really allowed Christian Bale to totally own the role of Batman and do it in his own way. Seems like he gave Ledger a lot of leeway to make it his own too.

As I said, the laugh is really creepy, but also just the sight of him. The shot of him hanging out the back window of the police car and the shot of him sitting in the prison cell clapping, it really looks like he found a new level of creepy and insane.

And I have to mention the awesome shot of Bale taking his shirt off. That really works for me. It's lovely. Worth the price of admission alone. It's just a bonus that the movie itself, and Ledger in it, look awesome.

You're not the only one... that voiceover in the trailer gave me serious goosebumps!

I'm looking forward to both equally... but I can't wait to buy this DVD!

Fan sites are putting out reviews from people who have seen screenings of this (Ain't It Cool being one) ... overwhelmingly positive for the most part, here. A few people playing the Oscar card for Ledger. So pumped for this movie, and it's still THREE WEEKS AWAY!!!
