You just gained so much more respect from me. I am all about the 80s-early 90s sci fi... which brings me to my fave...
Pulp Fiction
Top 3 include Fight Club, and Lost In Translation. I am however a sucker for some Enimy Mine, Last Starfighter, Flight Of The Navagator... that kinda thing.

Really? It got horrible reviews. From both critics and my friends. I'll probably see it but the reviews have convinced me not to see it at the big screen.[/b][/quote]
My buddies and I saw it, and 2 of them called it the worst movie.
My other friend and I thought more into it and really enjoyed it. It might have been a bit slow, but had its scary moments and some very deep politic messages.
Its got a great story to it.
I wouldn't recommend it to people who want to see a scary movie. But to those who want more from a movie.

I saw it yesterday and loved it
The Village isn't a "scary" movie, but the characters are supposed to be "scared"
that's what's throwing people for a loop, normally when the characters are kept scared and insuspence so is the audience. "The Village" was more about social values, life, and cost/benifit.
There are twists in the rhetoric as well as the film, I won't post them as I don't want to ruin the movie for those that didn't see it. There is a book I'm reading right now that actually explains part of the ending to a T (that's what scared me the most).
I'm a HUGE fan, but again, I like mind/thinking movies, and the fact that it wasn't scary didn't bother me, as I'm not a huge fan of scary movies.

Requiem For A Dream is one super intense show.
If you ever had any doubts about never trying heroin that movie will quickly erase them.
That movie has something for everyone's fears: drug addiction, paranoia, prostitution, double ended dildoes, amputation, delusional episodes, murder, prison, internment in a psychiatric ward, you name it.

Way too tough to list one.....However,
Shawshank would also rank way up there for me. Loved the short story, thought the movie was translated to the screen amazingly well.
Raiders of the Lost Ark has always been a favourite of mine ever since I went with my old man to see it when it first came out. It's just a fun movie.
12 Angry Men is a movie I can watch anytime. Superb.
There's just so many though. Casablanca, Usual Suspects, Great Escape, Local Hero, North by Northwest. Even a little movie like "The Dish" is a huge favourite of mine.
Ok, I bought "Office Space" recently and quite liked it, but why do so many people rate it quite as highly as they do? Having worked in an office I can certainly see people I used to work with in the movie but I can't understand why people rate it quite so highly. Fill me in, people. What am I missing? I've only seen it once I'll have to give it another go.

Same reason I put it up in my top 3. I love American Beauty for the same reason, but that didn't have the kick ass fight scenes. I also am liking everything that Brad Pitt has done in his career than I have seen, except Cool World.
I remember the idea of Monster Squad, but I don't think I ever saw it. The one that I have in my head from the same time frame is the Travelers, I think it was called. It had River Pheonix as a kid and some other now famous actors as kids, and they buld a space ship. I remember a dog chewing bubblegum, and an alien saying "HUBBA HUBBA". Other than that, a blur.
