The father doesn't want the daughter back, obviously since he now
has no authority over her.
The mother used the daughter to get back at the father. It says the
daughter is with the mother, but father has custody. The mother
sided with the daughter, saying missing the trip was too harsh a
punishment.
Best guess is that the courts allowed her to have a lawyer because she
is 12, and in the midst of a 10 year custody battle. That's probably
the only reason it even saw a court. At 12 the child is allowed some
input into where they live.
At that point the judge has to make a decision.

Nice of the mother to use her daughters misdeeds to get custody of this girl. I bet she wants to be the nice parent that never says no.
Have fun raising the next drain on our welfare system.

Thus permanently shattering her ability to trust or respect men.

I, for one, welcome our new judge overlords.
And by welcome, I of course mean repudiate and loathe.

And the daughter is the one who will suffer as now it's likely she won't have any positive male influence in her life. Assuming the father was a positive influence.

If she takes her dad to court over punishment, she has alot more wrong with her than that.
To bad, another person who wont beable to contribute enough taxes to support their drain on the public system.

Nor a positive female influence if the speculation about mom is correct.
What an utterly stupid, bitter woman if this is accurate. In using her child to get back at her ex and to keep custody of the girl, she's eliminated her own ability to dicipline the child.
I suspect this 12 year old isn't going to end up with the life of a princess as a result.
I am so not surprised the judge in the case is female.

Oh, so suddenly it's now OK to have a 12 year old running an online dominatrix business?
What a double standard!

If the father was so concerned about it, how come he didn't just get rid of the computer?

What's the point of that? She was able to use her friends computer anyway. I can't tell if you're serious or not, but getting rid of the computer seems extreme and naive.

Frick I could imagine what would happen if I threatened to take my parents to court over any kind of punishment when I was growing up.
My next trip would to to Alaska courtesy of his boot to my butt.

Society has gone to crap, and so have our kids. I see signs of this every day, just driving around. There is NO respect anymore, for anyone, not even kids. The other day I had a guy start backing up in the Tim Hortons line up. I couldn't move anywhere, when he actually gently hit my bumper I honked at him. He started yelling out his window, calling me a whore, told me 'do you think im as stupid as you? do you think i didn't see you, im not as stupid as YOU look!'..blah blah blah..I wanted to tell him to f off ..but instead I just shook my head and him and laughed..that made him even angrier..but as he was yelling and screaming I thought of a poster I saw at a friends house that day that said..Don't argue with an idiot, people may not know the difference. If I hadn't read that that very morning I may have reacted different. A man in the parking lot drinking his coffee actually walked up to the guys van and said something to him in the window, I wish I knew what. Scary thing is, that guy probably has kids!
