Default Any 24 hour Hardware stores?

Hey folks,

My Hot Water Tank ruptured. The valve turning off the cold water just prior to the tank is so old that it doesnt work. In order to get my family through the night with water, I need to cap the line, or install a new value to connect to the new water heater.

Does anyone know of any hardware stores open 24 hours in Calgary? Or stores that would sell a plumbing valve, or even a 3/4 copper cap that I could soulder in until tomorrow?

Thanks.

It sucks when your hat water tank ruptures, but at least you can still take a hot shower!
Not sure of any places open all night, but I know Home Depots open early.

Would Wal-Mart have anything like that? There's 3 or 4? in the city that are open 24 hours. I'll be honest though, I have no idea what they offer or what you're looking for.

Looking through my miscellaneous plumbing supplies for the second time, I managed to find a copper cap to soulder on. The water is A-OK for tonight.

The tank is larger than the old one, so I need to extend the input gas line a couple of inches. To meet code, do I need to have Atco come and do it? Or can I just do it myself.

And ... I called 311. For replacing a water heater, you dont need Atco or a permit. But, if you replace the furnace, you do need to get a permit.

Wal-Mart should have enough random parts to hold you over if you Macgyver it but that's the only 24 hour store I know of.
