Default Flood Pics near Quad Cities.

Well Here in muscatine Iowa its not to horrible but cities around an hour away QC, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids are all in horride shape. City of Cedar Rapids has roughly 10 square miles under water.

http://www.press-citizen.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage

that website will show you how bad it is in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids Roughriders (USHL) arena is under water damage is unknown.

My rink that I play on is under water. (were the baby flames had preseason games last year) Figure that some of you would like to see this.

Thursday we had 3-4 inches of rain which is around 12 cm of rain in a 4 hour time period.

I have a cousin in Cedar Rapids ... I hope she's making out okay. I tried contacting her but I think my e-mail address for her is out of date. Pretty brutal flooding ...

Makes our Okotoks experience in 05 pale a bit, hey? (not that it wasn't a terrible time for those of us down there then)

As far as I know, the QC Sports Center isn't UNDER water, just surrounded by it. I'm not sure why they couldn't build a bridge to that like they did with the baseball stadium, but I suppose it has to do with it being an enclosed space. If there was a fire at the stadium people could just run out onto the field and be safe.

If it rains much more tomorrow, I won't be able to go to work on Monday ... my building will be under water

Cheering for the rain, eh?

Nasty flooding. Reminds me of what we went through in 2005, though it looks like you guys are getting it worse.

I'm in Boston now, but I really feel like I should have been in Iowa City over the last week, helping with the sandbagging efforts. One of the biggest catastrophes is the University of Iowa library, which is an excellent library for a public University. Last I heard they were frantically moving volumes, but they house over 10 million volumes in the building, including many that are priceless and irreplaceable. The Library was scheduled to start taking on water yesterday afternoon.

Many of my old haunts are underwater. It's a strange feeling looking at the pictures.

I've got quite a few pictures of the Davenport/Quad Cities area flooding on my blog, at quadcityimages.blogspot.com.

I'll try to resize and post some here later today.

Wow--crazy stuff, isn't it?

In Iowa City they're saying it's the worst flood in 500 years--shattering all the records.

DS thats just from the guy that owns the mississippi Brew so I dont know if that viable info or not. Looks like you might have a couple day vacation. I havent hit a 40 hour week yet this year. Cant claim unemployment yet since I used it all last winter. Im hate this construction season. I hope I can get on the clean up duty, getting all the sandbags in dport and iowa city so on.. I hear Laminate is a pretty good place to be at HON.

Just apply at Hon, man ... make sure you put me down as referring you, I'll get $500

I really like Laminate, but the company overall is a great place to work. Great benefits, good pay
