Nhl 09

i really hope they improve the PC version. they totally nerf it down so people with pentium II's can still play. i just want to be able to control the ahl and nhl team from dynasty mode...

Systems: 360, PS3, PC-DVD, PS2

I'm pretty sure that the PC version will be the same as the PS2, which means that it'll be the same as last year, and the year before, and the year before that. But it'll probably have different textures and a somewhat clunkier interface. EA just doesn't seem interested in selling sports games to PC gamers anymore.

I have already booked off the 9th & 10th at work....not normally a video game geek but this series of EA NHL games are just that good!

I remember when 08 came out, I called everywhere on the 'official' release date, and it was no where to be found. HOOT, I'd shoot for getting the 11 & 12th off, you'll definetly have your game then, plus a 4 day weekend.

Maybe taking the 9th to 16th would be the safest bet

The hitting kinda drives me nuts too. First off, I SUCK at it. 2nd, when I do get off a succsesful bone crushing hit, it blows my mind how often the recipient is still able to get to the puck before I do. Seems like when you really hit someone, the player doing the hitting freezes for a second. Doesn't happen all the time but I would say I'm beaten to the puck half the time I get a good hit off.

I also get annoyed when you fire a pass for the one timer, the person sometimes swings and misses and stays in the follow through for a couple seconds before he can actually be used again.

I do agree with the interference penalty thing, MANY late hits go uncalled.

Finally there's video replays you can save. I won't have to use my cell phone camera to record goals anymore.

I wish they would also call slashing penalties after the whistle...I hate playing with ppl that just hack away when the whistle goes.

2 years too late. Nobody will ever see the goal that Noodles scored on Voukoun. Do you know how hard that'll be to recreate?

I would buy 09 if all it was was 08 with updated rosters and customized soundtracks.

Is it like older PC versions where you can put any song on the hard drive at various breaks in the game?

Haha nice. You know what's sad? Halo 3 had replays on consoles before NHL.

Listen to the man! Every year this problem arises. The date announced is the ship date. Some places will get it on the 10th, the majority on the 11th. Do yourself a favor and take the 11th and 12th off.

another thing i cant stand is people getting the pens or the caps and everytime sid or ovie are on the ice just skating around in circles and then pulling one of those spin around shots that kipper cant save for his life

I hate how you can't hit the goalies. That's the one thing I loved about the 2K series. If you were getting frustrated, you could skate up and just demolsih the opposing goalie. You got a penalty, but you felt awesome!

Nothing yet ... there is hope for e3. I'd really like to hear some news about the dynasty mode.
