I'm a big believer in the old addage "what goes around comes around", that if you do good things, good things will happen to you. This is partly why I generally tip well at resturants, open doors for people, will walk behind cars trying to get into a busy intersection, and try to help people whenever/where ever I can.
For the most part it's been working REALLY well for me, however there are somethings no matter how hard I try I never succeed, get a break, or just have all around back luck. Looking back, according to karmatic theory (is karmatic a word?) I can see where I made mistakes, and basically was a complete and utter shingaurd-head, or fataing donkey-place-were-a-rabbit-lives.
My question for those who choose to answer it is... how do I correct this, how do I build up good karma if shot down every time I try? How do I rid myself of this bad karma?

Good question....
Ummm...uh...IF you are religious...say 500 Hail Marys and roll your beads 70 times.
Walk around your kitchen table "counterclockwise" 10 times tapping your heels every second turn. Offer your pet Gerbil to the God of the Earth and send me $5,000 in the mail in small bills...you will have good luck if you send 10 people this thread! You MUST be humming the Boy George song karma karma Chameleon the entire time!
Other than that...just keep on keepin on...do well to others and they will do well back!!!

Perhaps your should stop worrying about Karma. Good people get bad deals all the time and no amount of good Karma will change that. I'm glad you do the good things you say you do, we all should, but expecting it to bring your good luck may just not be realistic. With most of the planet living in poverty, countless people with disease, people being tortured, raped and murdered among countless other examples of getting a bad deal, perhaps we should do our best to help each other, and suck it up on the bad stuff that we can't fix. At the end of the day, anyone with a computer, in the Western world on hockey forums has much better luck or Karma than most of the people on the planet who don't even know where their next meal is coming from.
We should be thankful for what we have.

The word is "Karmic". I know people who really believe in this, but I don't believe in Karma.
This world is random, violent, and arbitrary. Karma does not exist if you look at all the innocent, good people, who die or otherwise suffer needlessly or helplessly in this world. Karma is simply a justification for that, which would dictate that these people did something horribly bad earlier in their lives or even in a previous life if your belief goes that deep and so their fates are deserved.
Karma is either a) a way to put people in their place so they won't question what befalls them
or b) a way of generating mutual reciprocity or altruism
In civil society between genenally well-raised people with good morals and goodwill, this generally works because kindness is indeed returned with kindness. I think that's as far as it goes. It's like how a smile can make others smile.
If you really believe whatever you're failing at is a result of bad karma, please elaborate on your specific problem.

I figure karma's more about intentions than results. If you're honestly trying to do good, that's what will count for you. Then again, it would be even better if you were doing it because you're a good person rather than in hopes that fate will reciprocate. :P

Homer: "You're selling what now?"
Apu: "Only the concept of Karmic realignment."
Homer: "You can't sell that. Karma can only be rationed out by the cosmos."
