Nowhere to be found.

Okay, whatever you say.
The man of the match would beg to differ. Ronaldo had a great game, and considering the double team and triple teaming he was getting from the Czechs, contributing on three goals was amazing.

No doubt, he had a very good game, not denying that, just saying hes not perfect.

Not perfect, but close......................I hate to be that guy, but he's like Iggy to me.
And for the record, I just watched the Czech goal on TSN's replay of the game, Ronaldo, Simao, Deco and Gomes weren't even in the penalty area, they were marking the guys outside the box. Every Portugal man in the box had a man covered as the cross was coming in and like I said Petit and Moutinho blew coverage and the Czech man did well to get low and power a header in the net.

I watched the game and Ronaldo is an amazing soccer player, but his diving has to stop. There is times he's fouled, don't get me wrong, but man when he loses the ball clean he goes down like he was shot. It's like he thinks the only way he can lose the ball is by a foul.
Unfortunatly the Czechs as a such a small country don't have the debt ot overcome the midfield problems. No Rosicky and Nedved, the team is not the same as it was before. It may be a few years before this team gets back into its form, they've only had two players show up for this tournament so far. Cech and Sionko
They didn't pay extra attention by having 2 or 3 guys on him all the time, if that was the case many of your other players would have been open and I'm sorry no triple teamed player gets that open just outside the 18 yard line for a one timer. The Czechs should have covered him better and they failed to do it.

Tie breaking rules :
(a) Greater number of points obtained in the matches between the teams in question.
(b) Goal difference resulting from the matches between the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal).
(c) Greater number of goals scored in the matches between the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal).
(d) Goal difference in all the group matches.
(e) Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches.
(f) Coefficient of points from the last two qualifying competitions for the final rounds of the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2008 (points gained and divided by the number of matches played).
Czech Rep is 4th and Turkey 13th, so the Czechs would go through.

I lied.
It would be decided by penalty shootout.

Yawn, same old, same old with Ronaldo. I'll be the first to admit that there was 2 or 3 times where I thought he embelished, but good God, it wasn't that big a deal. If you wanna complain about diving, fine, complain about it but as the sport in general. I think it's unfair to single one guy out and making him to be the next Greg Louganis. Not sayin that you were doing that, just generally speaking.

Here is my background on my comp throughout Euro. It's nothing fancy but it's nice to have all the teams points right in front of me at all times. If anyone is interested in using it, let me know and I'll keep updated the newest version everyday after games.
Go italy

Hey VANFLAMESFAN, congrats your team, looking good so far! REading through this thread you've done a good job defending the team and there performance. Wouldn't it be cool if Sweden meats Portugal in one of the future fixtures, that might be the only time we don't see eye to eye my friend.

Outside of Portugal's wins, nothing has made me happier than seeing those damn Greeks get spanked by Svergie. That was amazing. I loathe the Greeks. Yes, I'm still bitter bout 04.
Portugal v Sweden final........don't think so, but it would be fun.
You moved back to Calgary?? Didn't like the best city on Earth??

Good ol Wikipedia lists both Turkey and Russia as being "Trans-continental" countries, for what that's worth.

Great goal by Croatia!
Croatia dominating.. Germans have hardly been in the Croatian half in the first 25 minutes.
