Anyone have dirty tap water in Calgary?

I am guessing that my water supply is instantly dirty due to the large amounts of rain. But, I have lived in this location for 7 years, through other very wet periods, and havent experienced anything like this.

Does anyone else have dirty water right now?

I filled the tub for my daughter's bath, and the water had a distinct brown tinge. When the tub drained, it left a dark brown sediment in the tub.

I dont think a water heater can go from normal to THAT dirty in one day.

Maybe someone dropped a deuce in your tank.

A feeder main/pipe in your area may have broken, you should call 311 and report your issue, so distribution can take a look.

Also if they know the area, the on shift operators might be able to notice a pressure drop/increased demand from said break (if it's big enough), and find it quicker.

Good idea Stillman. I just did that. They took the information, and said the water services will look into it.

They never did call me back to let me know what the problem was.

But, about 4 hours after I noticed the dirty water, I tested it again and it was all cleared up.

Last week my tap spit out black water for about a second then went back to normal. I'm a bit worried some alien entity is going to assault me in the shower now.
