Obviously a flawed and biased list ... the Stamps weren't on it. I think the Stamps logo is the nicest looking in all of pro sports, and the simplicity and beauty of the galloping mustang against a red background is unbeatable. As for the Eskimos, their logo, helmut and jersey make me want to barf. I think it's the colours they use ... barf green and baby poop yellow. It looks like the colour of stuff my dog spews after having a grass salad.

It was the author's opinion on which logo's and helmets were the best of all time. I like his choices of the old Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers, and creamsicle Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As well as the honorable mention for the original New England Patriots helmet and logo.

Seriously? The old Bucs helmet is #2, but the Vikings and Rams aren't on the list?

I would have put the Vikings in there somewhere.

The Buccaneers? Are you kidding me? Those were god awful. I much prefer the Chargers dark blue helmet to the throwback white. One of the best logo and color schemes in pro sports...and I hate the Chargers.

I think Kansas City's helmet is awesome.

If you HAVE to include a USFL helmet as the author suggests you certainly don't use the Stars. PUKE. I would've chosen New Jersey, Tampa or Birmingham ahead of them...and that's only out of the group he claimed to have considered! I'd also choose these ahead of the Stars...

As for the CFL, definitely like Calgary and Winnipeg better than Edmonton.

I'm not a big fan of the Bengals helmet, but geez it's such an improvement over what they used to wear I guess I can sympathize with its inclusion!

It didn't surprise me to see the Packers in the top three, after I saw that the Eskimoes made the list.

I still like the old Bucs helmet. I also would have added the Redskins to the list.

ahh, you're being too much of a homer then. The Saints is fine, but top 11 of all time?

I'd go:

1 Steelers
2 Longhorns
3 Vols
4 broncos with the D
5 Buckeyes
6 Crimson Tide
7 White Chargers
8 New Bucs
9 Wolverines
10 Cowboys
11 Sun Devils

Cool link, thanks for that. Here are Ro's top 10 NCAA Div. I helmets:

10:

Boston College. Who needs a logo. But at least they had the foresight to add a second color for effect, ahem, Notre Dame.

9:

Air Force - Chargers redux. With better colors.

8:

Southern Methodist. Interestingly, they first used this logo in 1968, the same year the Stamps did. Wonder who stole it. Have to admit it looks sharp in this color scheme though.

7:

Oregon. I'm a Ducks fan, so this is another impartial pick, but the shape of the "O" has a dual significance for Ducks fans, and it's simple and classic and they wear the green and yellow so much better than the Eskies.

6:

Florida. Kind of like the Houston Oilers one from the original list- throwback feel, old school cursive, bright colors. One of those lids that makes me think of college football for whatever reason.

5:

Florida State. A clear ripoff of the old 'Skins helmets, but with better results.

4:

California. I've always loved this one, don't know why really. It's like I can picture Jerry Rice running a perfect flag pattern and catching a clean pass in the corner of the endzone with delicacy and grace, just past the outstretched defenders, all because he's wearing this helmet. Then he does a little post-TD dance, but not as flamboyant as to embarrass the other team. Classy, smooth...looks like an "athlete's helmet" to me. I dunno.

3:

Clemson. More Bronco orange. One of the best logos in football also.

2:

Texas. What says "southern US college football" better than this helmet? Simplicity always wins out in the end. Another great logo also.

1:

Michigan. Might not even make some people's lists, similar to the Bengals helmet in the original list, but I think it's fantastic. Like this cool link says (http://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/foo...et/mhelmet.htm), the instantly recognizable wings are symbolic with college ball.

-------------

CIS Bonus pick:

Toronto. Hadn't seen this one before I checked out the CIS school's pages, but wow, what a great looking helmet. Must be the hue of the blue. It's like the Maple Leafs decided to add red to their logo, and I didn't hate them for it.

Obviously this was meant to be tongue and cheek. Not to be taken seriously, so all freaking out that the Bucs were 2 need to relax.

Good list, though I never liked the Broncos "D" helmets, and what no Hawaii Rainbows?
